Are you a man or a woman?
Scott75 replied to Deluge's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
So in other words you're claiming that society has some sort of inailable rights granted to it which supersede the rights of people entirely. No, I'm not. For starters, societies are an amalgamation of the people that compose it. Secondly, I said nothing about it being an unalienable right. You only quoted my first sentence, but what I said after that made it clear. Quoting: ** In this forum, which could be considered a small branch of society, I've noticed that people are allowed a pretty wide range of ways to label each other, but as I pointed out, on Facebook and other media style books, tranny is a term that has been banned. That is -not- the case for the term cisgender. But there's another issue here, which is that while the Admins here may be fine with people calling each other all sorts of slurs, most would agree that calling a biological male who identifies as a male a cisgender male is not a slur against that person. ** Bottom line, many of the rights we have depend on where we are. I'm not an American citizen and I haven't lived in the U.S. for quite some time- you are looking at the wrong branch of society. The rules you should be looking at are the ones for this particular forum, as opposed to, say, Twitter. -

Oh you mean despite your whining i was right. Imagine that. Yawn. You can't seem to stop yourself from insulting people at every turn, can you? Pointing out the truth isn't insulting to normal people it's just you Setting aside the fact that I disagree that you pointed out the "truth", insulting people is -not- a good way to win arguments. Doing it when someone -agrees- with you is even worse. From what I can tell, anyone who disagrees with you on the subject of this thread "invites derision and insult". It's not a healthy way of living. -

Sure it does. How people see themselves is greatly influenced by how others see them or label them. If you're trying to claim that if we seal someone in a room with zero contact with the outside world it woudln't affect them then maybe... but that doesn't happen in the real world does it. No, but people don't always have to voice how they categorize people either. The bottom line is as follows: For people who define male and female human beings as anyone who identifies as male or female, there needs to be a way of differentiating between people who are of cisgender and people who are transgender. We have words for this, which I've just mentioned, and people who define male and female in this way tends to use them. The problem, ofcourse, lies with people like you who -don't- define male and female this way. But to me, the issue is essentially like people who speak different dialects of the same language. You may not use the words my group uses, but you certainly understand their meaning and so long as we're not talking on Twitter, it's generally not considered offensive to use the term cisgender. This clearly includes this space, as I don't have to put a dollar sign in the word. -

Not according to Elon Musk on X. True, and here we can literally see one side of this debate having significant power in the online world. If I were talking on Twitter, I might well have to avoid using the term, but we're not. Similarly, if we were writing on Facebook, you would have to avoid using the word tranny. Now, here's where I think the main difference is- I can and have defined myself as a cisgender man. From what I've read, it looks like few if any transgender people define themselves as trannies. Now, perhaps some do, but I think it'd be in the same category as using the n word for people of darker complexions. Only people who have these darker complexions can use that word without it being considered an insult, and even then, only in some contexts. -

Nope. A drivers license is an official government document to identify someone as what they actually are, not what they think they are. They should not be abused to play into the mental issues of people. Same goes for other official government documentation, like birth certificates. You cut off my quote before I even mentioned what I strongly support, so I'm not sure if you read my full post. The kicker is at the bottom. I'll repeat the part that you didn't quote, because I think it's rather important: ** A major goal of transgender activism is to allow changes to identification documents to conform with a person's current gender identity without the need for gender-affirming surgery or any medical requirements, which is known as gender self-identification.[1][2][3] It is part of the broader LGBT rights movements. ** Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transgender_rights_movement We may disagree on many things, but we essentially agree that transgender transition hormones/hormone blockers and surgery can be something that people can regret. If people could get the gender identity they want -without- having to do this, I think it could avoid situations of this nature. -

You're getting responses because transsexualism has gotten so pervasive. The irony is that I think it would be better of there were less transsexualism and more transgenderism. I suspect you don't know what the difference is, so here it is: ** Transsexualism vs. Transgender It's essential to understand the difference between transsexualism and being transgender. Transgender is an umbrella term that includes anyone whose gender identity differs from their assigned sex at birth. Transsexualism, however, is more specific and often involves a desire for medical treatments such as hormone therapy or surgery to transition from one sex to another. Key Differences Transgender: Broad term including many gender identities. Transsexual: Specific term often involving medical transition. ** Source: https://www.medicoverhospitals.in/diseases/transsexualism/ As I've stated in the past, I believe that if people are more accepting of transgender people, their desire to get hormones/hormone blockers and sugery will lessen. -

Feeding the gender fantasy is never a good idea. It's best to identify all human beings by their sex: men and women, boys and girls - just like all societies have done throughout human history. Trannies can truly go to hell on this one. I strongly suspect that it's attitudes like yours that are one of the causes of traumas like the one User posted way back in post #627. Comparing folks to the KKK and accusing others of transphobia, you don't get to pretend like you are above the fray anymore. [insults removed] I've never pretended I'm above the fray. I -have- kept my posts fairly civilized. Also, some posters have shown some behaviours that are reminiscent of some things that the KKK and other hate groups have done. That doesn't mean they -are- KKK members, and I'm glad that at least one poster here has pointed out that they're not fans of the KKK. As to some posters here having transphobia, I stand by that. As I've mentioned elsewhere, I think I may even have a bit, although I strive to lessen this in myself. -

Apparently, this thinking that people have more accounts when they don't is fairly common amoung posters of a certain type. They are really scared that someone will put something over on them. What an anxious way to live. I guess. The sad thing is that by jumping to conclusions, they only discredit their own powers of observation. I've taken a look at some of your posts in other threads and I see that we don't agree on everything. I wonder how long it'll take CdnFox to realize? Time will tell I guess :-p. -

Apparently, this thinking that people have more accounts when they don't is fairly common amoung posters of a certain type. It reminds me of a post from an Admin in another forum who actually -allows- more than one account, in a thread where posters are trying to get rid of this feature. Quoting him: **Just an FYI, there are fewer "sock" accounts than folks think there are.** But some people just can't resist jumping to conclusions. Perhaps the best way to put it comes from a song I like: "Some men, you just can't reach. So you get what we had here". So it goes. -

You're the same person As I've told CdnFox before, I only have one account here. At some point, I think he stated that I had 3 accounts. I suppose deluding himself that I had 2 wasn't enough for him -.- -

Well I tend to disagree that it's a whim, given the lack of respect shown here in this very thread as well as everywhere else on the internet for people who aren't transgender I find your above statement to be quite ironic. I can't speak for the internet, but in -this- forum, what I've seen is a -lot- of lack of respect for people who are transgender as well as others from the LGTB community. -

Caring about the welfare of others is never scummy. The efforts of @Scott75 have been honourable Very well said, and thank you :-). I just think the last bit was a bit too much, this part: I strongly suspect that CdnFox -thinks- he's doing the right thing with all these insults. I certainly don't think he's thinking logically here, but these subjects tend to have emotions running high. -

You're pushing vapor. Whims. Sexual fantasy. It's not real. That wiki posts it only serves to amplify the need to dispense with such insanity as soon as possible. I'm glad that you at least recognize that Wikipedia is posting what I'm quoting. You can ofcourse ignore whatever I say as fantasy, but the Wikipedia posts are a solid sign that this is much larger than me. Even more important is the legal cases that have gone through the court system. As I have acknowledged in the past, what I suppose I could call the gender identity movement hasn't won every court battle, but I think they've been winning more than they've been losing and I see that trend continuing in the future. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see how things will go if that trend continues. -

That you think your whims can dictate the meaning of words and that you can force this unnatural trap on society is...hubris. My whims have nothing to do with this. I've simply been pointing out that the definition of male and female, when used in the context of gender, has expanded for a great deal of people, and has reached places such as Wikipedia and even the legal system. And yes, I also think this is a good thing. -

I made no attempts. I simply told you of the fact that words such as female have already been given new definitions. Even quoted a Wikipedia entry proving my point. You snipped off the Wikipedia entry, perhaps thinking that this fact would just go away if you snipped it from my quote. But ignoring reality doesn't make it go away. Yes, you certainly did make an attempt... What do you think I attempted to do? -

As if trans people were the only ones who were fighting for their rights. You do remember that I'm not trans, right? Rights? Calling normal people cis is not a "right" Generally speaking, it is, Twitter notwithstanding. You certainly don't have to put any dollar signs on the term here, unlike another term you like to use on me. And I have yet to find a dictionary that says that it's a pejorative. The fact that I define myself as a cisgender male strongly suggests that it's not a pejorative as well. -

Not my typos kiddo and not even your typos. Explain to me how "Do people are just sick of dealing with your dishonesty" is a proper English sentence and then we can talk about who made a typo. I see you're back to your usual game of trying to change the channel. No, just trying to point out that you made a typo, while you've been trying to "change the channel" as you say. For those who'd like to see the typo in question, it's all in the nested quotes in my post #786. -

You're doing more than that. You're trying to convince others to believe what you believe. What I'm trying to do is use logic and evidence to try to come to a mutual agreement as to what is true. There you are, insulting transgender people again. For those who don't know, tranny has been considered to be a slur for transgender people for a while now: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tranny Anyway, could you elaborate on this simple declaration you're referring to? No, I'm not a soldier for anyone, at least if we're defining a soldier by one of the following 3 definitions: ** noun One who serves in an army. noun An enlisted person or a noncommissioned officer. noun An active, loyal, or militant follower of an organization. ** Source: https://www.wordnik.com/words/soldier I've never served in any army, or been "an enlisted person or a noncommissioned officer". Finally, I'm just not the militant type, by which I mean I don't fit any of the following definitions for militant: ** adjective Fighting or warring. adjective Having a combative character; aggressive, especially in the service of a cause. noun A fighting, warring, or aggressive person or party. ** Source: https://www.wordnik.com/words/militant -

I think this article is useful in understanding the danger of hateful words used on a group of people: https://itstartedwithwords.org/statements/ It has nothing to do with hate. "Hate" is a word radicals like you throw at your opposition to try and force them into silence. When I call someone a stunted pervert, it means that person is an actual stunted pervert. I don't sugar coat. I just tell it like it is. I imagine that the Nazis could have made the same argument. Quoting from the article I linked to previously: ** “Propaganda is a truly terrible weapon in the hands of an expert” wrote Hitler in 1924 when he was a somewhat marginal figure in German public life. But he was not marginal to the emerging Nazi Party where he served as its first director of propaganda. His insight was how to use its powerful messaging and new technologies to build a mass political and social movement in the context of German democracy. Building on fear and resentment coupled with longstanding antisemitism, the Nazi Party deployed propaganda to offer a bold new vision for Germany. That propaganda helped to create a climate that emboldened the perpetrators, provided justifications for the collaborators, and helped silence the bystanders. All helping to make the genocide of the Jews possible. ** Source: https://itstartedwithwords.org/statements/ The part about the Jews we know, but many are unaware that the Nazis also held a special place for the LGTB community as well. Quoting from an article on the subject: ** DEATH IN CAPTIVITY From 1933 to 1945, around 50,000 men were convicted of homosexuality and sent to prison. Of those, around 10,000 ended up in concentration camps where they faced slave labor, torture, rape, forced castration, medical experimentation, and murder. One of these victims was Liddy Bacroff, a transgender woman from Hamburg who was arrested in the late 1930s. Bacroff maintained her identity in the face of police persecution, telling her captors that her “sense of sex is fully and completely that of a woman.” Nonetheless, they prosecuted Bacroff as a male homosexual and sent her to Mauthausen, where she was murdered in 1943. Queer inmates faced abuse from guards and other inmates who often saw pink triangles as the lowest of the low among those imprisoned. Isolated from inmate support networks and subjected to daily abuse, gay and trans prisoners faced some of the highest death rates among non-Jewish camp prisoners, with an estimated two-thirds dying in captivity. ** Full article: https://holocaustcenter.org/german-lgbtq-community/ -

I asked if you had a link handy for this alleged LGBT agenda. You provided a link to an LGBT activist site. That's not what I'd asked for. I suspect there is no LGBT agenda, just activist sites like the one you provided. If yet to see any evidence for your notion that "all" of the LGBT community is unified in anything. The agenda's throughout all of those links I provided you. And I never said "all" of the LGBT community was in on the agenda. You certainly used the word all. Quoting: ** It's not "some" of the trans community; it's ALL of it, including the LGB cultists. ** Source: Post #851 So, do you think that all trans people and "LGB cultists" (whatever that means) have the same agenda? Some you're fine with those in the LGBT community who "stay home and keep to themselves"? Are you suggesting that you are only "cool" with members of the LGBT community if they remain silent on issues that are important to them? -

That's right, Scott75, even a staunch wokeness disciple like you can make room for the OTHER half of womanhood - the biological half of womanhood. I think I've made clear that I think it's important to differentiate between people who are cisgender and transgender in certain circumstances. I think most people only want to date people who are cisgender. -
Are you a man or a woman?
Scott75 replied to Deluge's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
False. As I've mentioned before, I'm a cisgender male. Wrong. You're just a male. I'm -pretty- sure that you know that many people now define being a male as anyone who identifies as a male. I'm also pretty sure that you don't consider transgender males and cisgender males to be the same. I certainly don't. So, how can we differentiate between these 2 types of males? Well, one easy way is to preface the term male with either cisgender or transgender.
