  1. I agree, the point is that it's no good moaning about the cost to the economy when there's a war on. First win the war and then worry about the cost after. I'm not talking about you obviously but there are some here who want to put the economy before lives.
  2. There are no degrees of social distancing. You either do it or you don't. It's not just about stoping or slowing the spread, it's about protecting healthcare workers and food distributors and producers. Any non-essential work is endangering everybody else. If some cage fighter takes an intensive care bed because he doesn't think the restrictions apply to him that is aiding and abetting the enemy.
  3. Yes but without social distancing and stay at home protocols we could lose 1-2% of the population. That is megadeath. 3-6 million in the US alone.
  4. Remind me what those alternative options where then because all I remember you doing is refusing to give any.
  5. OK, I'll ask you again what those alternative options are. See if you can answer the question this time rather than saying it's a stupid question or pretending you have already answered it. I'll wait, I'm not going out any time soon.
  6. Yet you are ranting about the damage social distancing is doing to the economy without offering any alternatives. You cannot give us any answers as to how we can carry out social distancing without closing shops and factories. You have less substance than a fart.
  7. Nope, you asked a meaningless question about a position no one has held to distract from your weak position so you could argue against that instead. The dictionary definition of a strawman.
  8. I've explained the importance of social distancing and explained why there is no way to avoid damaging the economy until there is a cure or a vaccine. You just keep blathering on about overreach, panic and South Korea without answering any of the difficult questions you are asked or backing up your soundbites.
  9. Italians aren't dying from economic collapse you muppet. Italians are dying through being too slow to start social distancing causing an overwhelmed healthcare service.
  10. I've known Y for a while now and he's always been like this. He can't back up his soundbites and just ends up getting abusive until you give up, at which point he thinks he has won because he got the last word.
  11. You accused someone of this... ...asking you what the alternative options are may be pointless in terms of getting an answer but it is not a question without a point. All you seem to have come up with so far is ''look at South Korea'' which has been debunked due to both insufficient resources to test and testing being closing the stable door after the horse has bolted now for most countries. If you don't have any alternative options to social distancing and the temporary harm it will do to the economy just say that rather than losing your cool and spouting out cliches and sound bites without substance. If you are really sick of my ''games'' then stop quoting me with your surrender posts without solutions.
  12. What have you done with the money you've got from selling your stocks? Have you rebought or just held on to it?
  13. A quick look at the markets seems to back up my early suggestion to buy gold. Prices are surging at a level not seen for over a decade.
  14. Not with protection of essential industries such as medicine and food production plus nanny state handouts. Not being able to watch hockey or buy a new phone will not kill you. The virus can kill you despite that protection if you refuse to accept social distancing because you want to protect the economy rather than the population.
  15. OK, I'll adjust my statement to avoid exploiting fear and reflect the possibility that you die whilst recieving medical care or in a coma. Hungry beats painless death.
  16. Killing the population v killing the economy. Conservatives v liberals.
  17. Well, hungry beats painful death from Covfefe19 IMHO.
  18. Already debunked due to the lack of testing capacity, have one more go I'm feeling charitable.
  19. South Korea had far more testing kits available after their experience with SARS 1 and even with that capacity they are still enforcing social distancing measures. If all you have is ''look at South Korea'' then you have nothing. I blame myself really, by now I should know better than to get into these circular, never ending conversations with you where you refuse to expand on your mindless sound bites and tired old cliches and resort to name calling instead. I'll leave the last word to you so you can feel like you won and make a hasty withdrawal before Chaz arrives to slap our wrists for making it personal. Make it a good one or everyone will know who has lost...
  20. Show me where you answered ''how do you keep shops and factrories open and comply with social distancing at the same time?'' We've already established that there are not sufficient testing kits or lab' capacities or enough PPE equipment available.
  21. Being proved wrong is annoying, what can I say?
  22. You want to keep the economy running and I'm simply asking how you do it whilst complying with social distancing. Your refusal to answer means you are the one showing signs of kneejerk, partisan delusions.
  23. While we are at it, why do you keep resorting to ad homs when I'm being as civil as I can be with a delusional, stubborn, half-wit?
