  1. Everything in moderation including moderation. As for the Great Hockey War of 2018, ''let those who were lost never be forgotten and let those that remain ensure it is never repeated.''
  2. Well, I'm off to work in my empty pub so you'll have to carry on without me anyway. I will add that of the three forums I frequent, one is completely unmoderated another is over moderated and this one seems to have the best balance required for interesting and civil debate. GSTQ.
  3. I would have accepted a complaint about tone but derailment was not a valid accusation IMO. However, it is his bat and ball to take away so here we are.
  4. Oh come on Charles. Discussing the words and actions of the world's leaders in reference to the virus is hardly derailment. Get a grip.
  5. Yet here you are defending Trump's early downplaying and politicisation of this crisis and describing criticism of it as TDS or a character attack. In fact, you have consistently downplayed it yourself despite all the information to the contrary that is coming in. You may need to have a good look at yourself before you accuse others of blind partisanship.
  6. If you consider every criticism of the Hair God as a character attack or TDS you may be suffering from an objectivity deficiency.
  7. Just be careful to take precautions whilst sucking on Trump's pipe, the risk of contagion will be even worse than the salty taste.
  8. Bo-Jo is promising to spend like a drunken sailor and I can apply for bennies but the delay in payments is going to be epic. Also, despite what some might say, the dole is not exactly living the life of the idle rich. I am used to living a champagne lifestyle on a brown ale budget and have family to bail me out if required but I worry for others who might live in a van down by the river.
  9. I doubt he even knows how to play snap.
  10. Y and myself are old frenemies from another site and just enjoy yanking each other's chains. I'm not taking it personally.
  11. Well my training as a chef already makes me more vigilant than most in terms of hygiene. At the pub we are planning to close after Sunday so I'm not in lockdown yet but I'm wondering whether I should decide to stop going in sooner. We are so quiet at the moment we are not exactly a venue of mass gathering, we only had 2 people in for lunch today, but our clientel is mostly elderly. One of the two was in her 90's. On the other hand I have no idea when I am likely to work again so it's a dilema. As a plus, I intend to ask for some left over stock in lieu of some of my wage as the supermarket is really starting to run short of supplies now.
  12. That's what I said Mr Cliche. I just did it more succinctly.
  13. What drills would you recommend to us panty waist civvies in order to protect ourselves sgt?
  14. As always, the best proceedure for dealing with political incompetance is the ballot box.
  15. Only if they send Trump to the electric chair for playing it down as a Democrat hoax to destroy the market.
  16. I still remember David Icke from when he was a below par sports commentator. He's a lot more entertaining now he's a raving lunatic but mocking the afflicted just isn't cricket old chap.
  17. I don't wish to distract from your message but would just like to caution against the use of raw statistics. Without further details about whether those under 65 who have been hospitalised had pre-existing health conditions simple percentages can be misleading. Neither of the links seem to mention these details. Due to the lack of more detailed information I would agree with you that everyone not just the elderly needs to exercise extreme caution but that may well be sloppy reporting.
  18. That's what they want you to believe.
  19. Which would collapse the world's economy quicker than the black death. Every Chinese product sold in the west is making money for the importers and retailers and saving money for the hard pressed consumers who choose to buy it. Besides, if you did stop buying Chinese goods production would simply move to the next cheap labour nation along the line. The only way to compete with cheap labour nations for productivity is to lower your own wages or automate, neither of which is going to help Joe Bloggs struggling to pay his mortgage and put food on the table.
  20. Apart from when you are down at the soup kitchen volunteering or shopping for your elderly neighbours. I'm not buying this coal black heart act anymore. So long as you don't get between you and hockey you're a pussycat.
