  1. I got my information from probably the same place you get yours. I don't know where you got that but I agree with them haveing more subs because I looked it up but about the larger ground force element I will have to disagree with that. Are ground forces are better equipped than they are considering we have the advanced armored vehicle, One of the few things in Canada's military that we can actually brag about and say it is up to date.
  2. http://www.cbc.ca/story/canada/national/20...tan-050808.html Above cited is my information for this topic. Alright here's the story. I totaly agree with this war, peacekeeping and rebuilding in Afganistan but I have recently read on cbc.ca that one of our top brass has just said that we will possibly be staying in Afganistan for 20 years a generation he says. Also we are planning on sending more troops in to this devestated country. Like I said I totaly support this mission in Kandahar but is it worth it now? is it worth it to the soldiers to be a way from wives, parants, sons, families?
  3. Agreed, I don't think Parrish can help herself she only wants to here herself talking and maker hesself look important. As for "she would already be back in the cocus" I definatly agree with you on that one
  4. ["One man one vote" has never been a part of Canadian democracy. If a Quebec man has one vote, then a man in Ontario, Alberta, or BC has approximately 0.86 votes. If a Quebec man has one vote, then a man in Saskatchewan, Manitoba, or the Maritimes has aproximately 1.4 votes. If a Quebec man has one vote, then a man in PEI or the northern territories has about 3 votes. Relivence to this forum? How does that make any sense? It probably does to some people not alot i might add but I just don't get it.
  5. Why? I assume Denmark has the same interest as Canada - ensuring that they have equal access to the strait. Exactly dennmark is going to make it hard because they want the straight as bad as we do. By the way thats the only reason they are trying to take are island.
  6. The GG does protect Canada from a dictatorship sice the GG has the power to disolve Paul Martins Minority if he ever tries to dictate and if the GG ever tried to dictate the PM could fire the GG and also the premiers are, are firewall against dictatorship as stated in another forum about this.
  7. Great Canadian spirit rbacon!! Don't insu;lt Canadas military like that we are getting better. Even if Canada has a bad military the Danes have worse I beleive are Miltary ranks 36th and the Danes are rated a horrible 137 out of every country in the world. I think Canada can handle the Danish military wise but than again it all depends if Paul Martins got the balls to use that strenghth.
  8. those are extremly good ideas but Denmark won't make it that easy.
  9. He's actually the Chief of the Defence Staff, which means that he's probably a better politician than the politicians, almost certainly smarter, and unquestionably knows more about such things than any of the politicians. And you resent his stating his opinion for what reason exactly, other than a knee-jerk anti-militarism? That's an awful lot of snivelling because the man said boo to terrorists. Did you dirty your pants in fear they'd come get you in retaliation? I suspect that any of those old men who were freedom fighters in France would beat the living crap out of you if you suggested to them they deliberately planted explosives to blow up children and innocent French civilians. Or even that they set massive bombs all over the place without the slightest care how many of their countrymen died. Furthermore, while the French were fighting against a brutal, Nazi dictator and hoping to free their nation, the insurgents in Iraq are fighting in favour of a brutal dictatorship (a theocracy using sharia law) and against democracy, which they have stated is against Allah's will. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You tsure told him i needed a little help in debating that one, you put up a good fight. But since you think that I am a troll and stated that in the monarchy forum ill have to say your trying to start arguments by posting this: "That's an awful lot of snivelling because the man said boo to terrorists. Did you dirty your pants in fear they'd come get you in retaliation?" Plus all the comments you made above, please don't be a hypocrite <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

  11. Well Denmark is still implying that their ship is only their for a soverenty ecercise which they do all the time. I myself really don't believe that considerign the destination it will be arriving at. The only thing Canada can do is land troops on Hans Island because are Navy ships are not equipped for the arctic unfortunatly.
  12. im not a troll im putting in my oppinion, your the troll trying to make me figth with you for stating that I am the troll
  13. Whats wrong with that kind of idea your is rediculis your idea is to abolish the monarchy and create pretty much a dictator ship a "supreme diplomat as you said it. With no one that can get rid of this suprmee person for example with the GG she can disolve parliment say if Paul here wanted to dictate the same with the PM could get rid of the GG and also the Provincial leaders as somone in another forum said it are a firewall against dictatorship and can protect us if the day ever arrises when Canada is threatend by it this way we here in Canada are guaranteed a democracy. Your idea i am sorry to say is absurd.
  14. We have completly united this country and fixed it Trudeau did that when he made this country Bilingual and than in the 90's we let them have a referendum asking them if they wanted to stay in the country and they did so they have been treated fairly. But the only way to get them happy would let them seperate theirs nothign else we could do besides leting them do that. I personaly woudltn let them ahve a referndum if I were PM because I say they joined confederation they darn well should stay in.
  15. Bakuunin, from my other GG thread, With a history of Quebec French hating the English in Quebec, wouldn't doing away with the Queen and things like her face on coins plus all the other "English Monarchy" traditions bring back a lot of the separatist Quebecers into Canada. I believe many of French Quebecers and Immigrants too, resent having ties to the English monarchy for so long and believe Canada should after 137 years give it up.Has anyone thought about what getting rid of the GG and the Monarchy connection in Canada would mean to the popularity of the Separatists in Quebec? What do you think? As much as you make a good argument that is not the reason why quebec wants to seperate, The war between Britain and France ended hundreds of years ago. The reason Quebec wants to seperate is because after all we have given them they still think they are not represented by a fair government or treated fairly within Canada.
  16. We still have the ability to blow the Danes out of the water we are 37th in worlds power full military guess what they have 137th they should be affraid of us and stop being cocky because if Paul Martin had the guts he would be sending are forces down their the blow the Danes away. Hopefull Hillier can persuade him to because I am gettign tired of the Danes.
  17. Well I tell you somthing those Danes are tkaing military action right now and I think it is obvious we stop negotiating to a wall because thats what we are obviously doing if they are ordering war ships to go up to hans island. I think once that vessel reaches it we should send one of are navy ships and drop some paratroopers on that island. But i think Martins too pussy to order any of that.
  18. Well if we partnered up into chinese, russian or other internbational space programs we wouldnt see a shuttle crash on earth or somthing go wrong every mission like the US seems to be doing at the momment. Well i think we should start are own space program so we can start doing are own research up in space that way we don't have to realy on people to do it for us. So sir spanky you thinkwe should still stay partnered up with the US thats a question?
  19. Hillier's job isnt to shut up in publick and do what he is told. It's to command the Canadian Armed Forces don't you know your ranks? "I would suggest that you be careful what you say because every country on earth has at one time or another supported terrorist actions." IS THAT A THREAT ON MY LIFE?? I highly have to dissagree with you so i guess you think that the suicide bombers blowing themselves up on both sides in Israel and Palestine are actions you support? The london Bombings are actions you suppor? Septermeber 11 is an action you support? I suggest you rethink what you just said up their
  20. Robotics are robotics are robotics. We could easily turn our expertise to earthly ventures and be successful, however the arm does advertise very well. The engineering isn't all that difficult for the arm, and I'm really not sure why everyone is so uppety about it. Perhaps because its our highest profile contribution, and it takes a good picture. Well considering are arm is the only arm that any ocuntry that sends astronauts into space that can inspect a space shuttle. If it is so easy you should build one!
  21. Yes but harper is the leader and he is against abortion and will make it illegal if elected get your facts straight
  22. Newbie: next time you give a link like that make sure your website is a more reliable website. That one has no true value.
  23. So far the United States NASA is not doing well in space and with all thats going on with Discovery are thinking of grounding future space flights. Canada is a leading country in space robotics and needs to be more active in a space roll and right now the United States cannot guarantee their roll if they are grounding future space flights. I have recently head on The NAtional that Canada wants to abandon are partnership with NASA for now and lend are technology to other countries like Russia China or Japan. This would be a great idea because not only can those countries guarantee space flights with are space robotics like the New Canada arm, they arn't groudned and arn't running into massive problems. I hope Canada figures out somthing soon because are robotics are not well suited sitting on earth rusting. Don't you agree?
  24. It's not that I don't beleive you but could I get a link to the website you saw this on. I am interested
