You do have a good point there Its too bad that the PCs picked someone as pathetic as Tim Hudak though the man came across almost as bad as Ford does in Toronto which is why they didn't win a single seat in Toronto -

He will be chased out of Ottawa before 4 years is up he will resign due to scandals -
Why do conservatives think they can still mention the liberals sponsorship scandal when their party has governed the country for the last 5 years and now has a majority for 4 more? Add on to that they ran on transparency and accountability but in reality are just like the liberal party they killed... I just don't understand .. Every chance they get they talk about Liberal corruption yet when its their own party they are silent or try to bring up the liberals Quite pathetic if you ask me

Knowing full well this guy was a crook and Harper still picked him as a top senior aide and here he is caught red handed disgusting, criminals hiring criminals = the new transparent conservative government of canada http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/story/2011/10/11/pol-vp-weston-carson.html CBC News has learned that Prime Minister Stephen Harper's former senior adviser, Bruce Carson, charged thousands of dollars in personal expenses to the federally funded think-tank he headed for just over two years. Robert Turner, a prominent Edmonton lawyer and chairman of the Canada School of Energy and Environment's board of directors, says that in one month alone Carson charged almost $28,000 in personal expenses to the school's corporate credit card, which is supposed to be used only for business. In an exclusive interview with CBC News, Turner said the board has simply written off about $15,000 of taxpayers' money that Carson spent on personal travel and other expenses during his last month on the job. The school — a think-tank set up at the University of Calgary with a $15-million federal grant — withheld another $13,000 it owed Carson when he left under a cloud of controversy in March. Turner is the first prominent insider to reveal what went on behind the scenes when the Carson scandal engulfed Stephen Harper's government on the eve of this year's federal election. Carson is already under investigation for possible influence-peddling and illegal lobbying last year in a failed attempt to land federal contracts for a shady company employing his then girlfriend, a former escort. Once among Harper's most trusted advisers, Carson has a long history of personal money problems, including fraud convictions and personal bankruptcy. Quebec to open safe injection sites in the coming months
olp1fan replied to olp1fan's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
http://www.huffingtonpost.ca/2011/10/11/quebec-safe-injection-sites_n_1005928.html QUEBEC - The Quebec government is giving the green light to new safe injection sites for addicts to shoot up under supervision. Health Minister Yves Bolduc says he supports the recent Supreme Court of Canada decision to keep the Insite safe injection clinic open in Vancouver. Bolduc says the ruling removed the last hurdle preventing Quebec from opening similar government-supported centres. The province is accepting proposals for safe injection sites — which could open their doors in the coming months in Montreal and Quebec City. Two organizations have already expressed interest in opening such clinics. In its decision, the Supreme Court ordered the Conservative government to abandon its effort to close Vancouver's Insite clinic. The high court also ruled that exemptions must be put in place to protect staff from prosecution for drug possession or trafficking. -
Good for Quebec, this will ruin Harpers week http://www.montrealgazette.com/news/canada/Quebec+opens+door+safe+injection+sites/5535145/story.html MONTREAL — Quebec's health minister has opened the door to supervised-injection sites in the wake of September's Supreme Court ruling upholding the right of provinces to run such drug-treatment facilities. Yves Bolduc said Tuesday he met with representatives of the province's two proposed drug-injection clinics — one each in Montreal and Quebec City — and explained that local communities, health centres and police departments must be consulted and involved in setting up the centres.
