  1. Looks like the Donald is reaping what he sows. The guy who is going to unite the USA had to cancel a rally on Friday because of out-of-control violence and this evening had to be surrounded by agents on stage for his own safety in Ohio.

There are about 300 million people in the USA. About 5% of the population has mental problems. That means that there are about 15 million people in the USA who have mental problems. There are about 350 million guns in the hands of folks in the USA.

    This means that ...

It is starting to look like the establishment elite are really in a panic. They are now sending inthe goons to try and shut Trump down. I hope that it all backfires on them, the losers.

  2. Gee, I wonder if someone female gets a job in a Muslim restaurant, would they be forced to wear a head cover? Would the Human Rights Commission force the owners to change their dress code so some girl would not be forced to wear a head cover? I doubt the HRC would because with the HRC, there are rules for some but not for others. It will probably depend on what minority you belong too. Just my opinion. of course.

  3. Trump business have declared bankruptcy 4 times. 4.

And yes, Target did fail when they came to Canada. But you know what? It didn't cause them to declare bankruptcy.

What makes you think he knows how to run a business?

Trump's travel website. Trump vodka. Trump mortgage. Trump university. Trump steaks. Trump airlines. Know what they have in common? They all went out of business.

Trump has more in common with the Kim Kardashians of the world (more or less talentless, but "famous for being famous") than in common with someone like Warren Buffet, who's wealth has grown faster than Trump's has.

Actually, we don't know how much Trump is worth. He won't release his financials.

As for his "business sense" Forbes said he might be worth $4 billion. Trump claimed he was worth ~200 million in the 70s. Had he put his money into an index fund (i.e. he didn't even have to "pick" stocks) he'd be worth ~12 billion. So Trump's businesses are doing worse than the stock market and the economy as a whole.

Because he doesn't "tell it like it is". He has been found lying more often than any of the other candidates.

Business ventures that would have been more successful if he just left his cash in the stock market and didn't touch it.

Oh, and I should point out... Trump got his start by having family connections. (A sizeable inheritance, plus the ability to borrow money based on his father's reputation.) Yeah, self made man there.

Except he's not... because as politifact showed. he lies more often than the other candidates. This has been explained to you. Over and over again. And over again. Someone would have to be pretty brain damaged to not understand that.

Last I heard Trump was worth a couple of billion, maybe more. What are you worth? How many hotels and buildings do you own? Trump doesn't take any money from anyone, and so all his efforts are being paid for with his own money. Nobody owns him like all the others. It must be costing him millions every day. I wonder where the other candidates are getting their money from? No doubt the establishment people that are lying and making up stories about him. Sure the man may have done some shady deals in the past but who cares. Plenty of delegates don't seem to be worried about it, and neither do the millions of Americans that are supporting him.

From what I can see here you are only going by what others say about him, others who hate Trump, and want him out of the race. Hey, if you want to make someone look bad, make up stories, and it might work out in your favor. Trump has already shown that Rubio and Cruz are liars, and called them liars, as to what they have been saying about Trump and his business dealings. When Trump called them liars, they backed off. No proof, eh?

Sorry to have to tell you this but Trump just took two more states. I guess there are some American people out there who don't believe all the lies that you appear to believe that are being said about Trump. Trump is kicking butt, and the establishment is just terrified that he might become President one day. I will stick with Trump no matter how hard you try to make him look like the big bad bogeyman. It is beyond me why anyone wants to see Trump out of the race. They must be afraid of losing something if Trump wins the Presidency. Maybe we will get to see a lot of people jumping out of windows if Trump becomes President. The establishment have a lot to lose if Trump becomes top dog.

Now why don't you start giving us some not so nice stories about Hillary, and some of her crooked dealings of the past? I bet that you can find a few?

  4. The OP seems to believe that refugee and immigrant mean the same thing - I think a lot of people agree.

As for me, the first thing that crossed my mind when I saw the thread title was ONLY 300,000? Imagine how let down I was when I found out it was really only 60,000.

The balance of the refugees may soon be on their way to Canada within the next few years or so if the liberals get their way. 300,000 may be just a drop in the bucket.

  5. Broken record.

I made it quite clear that this is as serious and somewhat personal issue for me. I think we all distrust government to some degree and rightly so but it burns me that truthers are willing to pretend the 250 odd people on those aircraft, their

families and everyone else in their lives didn't exist just so they can indulge in a fantasy that

they don't have one credible piece of evidence to support.

Contempt is the only accurate word I can think of. Their contempt for all those people and my contempt for them for doing it.

    Hope I've made myself clear.

I think that I already have made myself clear also. I guess that you will just have to live with it.

  6. And of course Jewish people remain the number one victims of hate crimes (per capita) in all European countries, by about an order of magnitude. Something no one ever mentions these days as a new wave of anti-semitism is beginning to sweep Europe.

Why or what do you think is the reason for all this anti-semitism going on in Europe?

  7. This is a lie. When you want to make false statements at least try something that can't be easily verified (like Argus does).

    http://www.ctvnews.ca/canada/canada-plans-to-welcome-300-000-newcomers-this-year-mccallum-1.2808284

Only 60.000 of the 300.000 planned are refugees which is bad enough (I like to see skilled, educated or rich immigrants regardless of race or color) and the rest are immigrants. 160,000 are skilled refugees and caregiver (to take care of sick and old and needy). This is only a 7.4% increase in the number of new immigrants from the previous conservative government.

Now I personally believe that the number needs to be cut in half and adaptability should carry a lot more weight.

Don't accuse me of telling lies. I told you that I had heard this on the CBC news channel this morning. I didn't make it up. The announcer made it sound like it was 300,000 refugees.

  8. There is nothing wrong with asking questions. The problem is making up your own conclusions to questions you can't answer

yourself. Conspiracy theorists are just plain lazy because all they have to do is question others, they don't have to

    actually provide any evidence themselves.

You have already been shown many photos so showing you any more would meet the same reception. Denial.

If you acknowledged any of them you would have to admit your position is the piece of garbage that it is. Your whole argument relies on ignorance of the facts and denial of evidence. I know it and you know it.

I am afraid to say it but it would appear as though you know nothing about 9/11. You appear to only know and believe what the establishment wants you to know and believe. But why keep this up? Just show me a photo of a plane, and I will be happy. I don't think that is to much to ask, is it?

    Show me a plane, man.

  9. I wouldn't recommend it.

Actually, the target is up to 305,000, which is about 45,000 more than 2014.

Canada will welcome up to 305,000newcomers this year

I love the photo in the Star column, it looks like McCallum is a sorcerer trying to conjure up more immigrants from thin air.

    john-mccallum5.jpg.size.xxlarge.letterbo

I know what I would like to say to McCallum but I would get fired here. My personal opinion of the guy is that he needs big time help. One has to be crazy to do what he plans on doing. I wonder what we the people would say if there was a poll taken asking Canadians if they were in favor of this crazy liberal immigration plan or not, and the costs associated with all these immigrants coming to Canada? Something tells me McCallum would lose.

  10. Maybe in sheep school.

Personally, I was always told to think critically and investigate when something doesn't sound right.

Personally, I wish for a moratorium on all immigration for at least five years for starters. When a country is suppose to have a 7% unemployment rate it makes no sense to be bringing in more new immigrants where no doubt many of them will likely end up on the taxpayer's payroll eventually. Our politically correct politicians appear to live strickly off of emotion, and show signs of a lack of judgement, common sense and logic.

  11. Whoa I see why the forum asks for links.

K so I found one. It's 300,000 permanent residents, not refugees. Refugees are 60,000 of which:

"The 2016 admissions target for refugees and protected persons is nearly 60,000. That includes nearly 25,000 government-assisted refugees, 44,800 resettled refugees and 17,800 privately-sponsored refugees."

    So same 25,000 as 2015?

I'm not commenting one way or another if that's too many but if you're going to post something do it truthfully.

I did not just make that up. That is how I heard it being told by the newscaster. Maybe they should have gone more into the plan so the listener can get it right. After all aren't we suppose to believe what the media tells us without question?

  12. You truthers have made up your mind that there is a conspiracy and everything was faked so you have no alternative but to try and ignore or discredit every bit of evidence put in front of you because you can't produce any of your own. You think

remaining ignorant gives you some sort of yellow brick road to the truth. In fact, you require ignorance to maintain your

    "truth".

Yup, everybody who does not believe in the government version of what happened has to be ignorant. Just asking anyone to produce a photo of plane parts has to be horribly ignorant alright. How dare they challenge the government version of the events.

I say 50 lashes with a wet noodle for them. They deserve it.

  13. On the CBC news this morning the reporter mentioned in one of their news stories that the liberals have decided that 50,000 new refugees is not enough, and so they are now planning on bringing in another 300,000 new refugees, and included in there is a thing called family reunification. This is getting ridiculous.

So who is going to pay for all of this? I will give you one guess? If you said me the taxpayer than you are right. This is going beyond ridiculous, and instead it is now going beyond sheer stupidity. Are you the taxpayer ready to fork out billions more for a bunch of strangers who have no right to be coming here because the taxpayer's who will have to pay for all of these refugees did not have a say in this great new plan created by the spend crazy liberals today. Where is their mandate for doing this? Shouldn't I as a taxpayer have a right to have a say as to whether I want all these people to be allowed to come here? Look at the toll that this is going to take on our medical and social services, and infrastructure, not to forget the environment damage that all of this immigration is going to do. It's sheer madness is all I can say for now.

  14. I got news for you. Canada is indeed a multicultural country (unless you still live in the past, like 70 years ago) and there is no need to give them the impression because IT IS A FACT that their culture and language and religion are equal to all others and this is written in our Charter of rights and freedom that citizens regardless of race, religion, origin, language, orientation have equal rights.

    ---SNIP---

I say this because I was in (UK) and that region is fairly racist (this was a couple of decades ago). I decided to go to a foreign restaurant advised by my hotel manager. So I was having my dinner and I heard some altercation near where I was sitting. I heard the white big English guy (with shaved head) who have eaten as much as a horse (I saw a few empty plates on his table) but refusing to pay saying that those people are allowed to come into his country and now he is entitled to a free dinner because he is now unemployed because of them!!!!!!!. He was arguing that they owe him at least that much to give him a free dinner for one night. How ridiculous one can get. There is no limit to stupidity and arrogancy of extreme right.

I guess that one can say that Canada is multicultural today because we are allowing every ethnicity on earth to come on in, and allowing them to bring their culture with them. In the creation of this country multiculturalism was not a factor. I don't believe that the word was ever used or heard of in Canada in those days over a hundred years ago. Our immigrants mainly came from Britain and Europe. We were all, as they say, children of a common mother. Now we are being told today, and being given the impression that Canada has always been multicultural right from it's beginning. If that were the case than why was Canada so Caucasian during it's founding and decades after that right up to the 60's? It's only during the late sixties that Canada changed it's immigration policy, and started to cut back on British/European immigration, and instead opened the door to the rest of whole world, and less of the other.

Look, I have nothing against non-white immigration. The problem that I am having today with our present day immigration policy is that there are far too many immigrants coming into Canada from the non-white world. 80-85% of our new immigrants are coming from non-white countries. It is changing Canada and it's makeup. And I will go as far as to say that what our politicians are doing to Canada today is committing racial suicide. The end of Caucasian majority. This should not be allowed.

You say that "immigrants don't owe me anything". Well I don't owe immigrants anything either but yet I have to pay for many of them that come here and cannot pay their way. My tax dollars are being wasted on so many people who should not be here. If an immigrant wants to come to Canada well they better have plenty of money because if they do not then they should not be allowed to come to Canada if they are going to suck off the system. Canada is bringing in too many such immigrants and it is costing the host Canadian taxpayer's billions of their tax dollars to look after immigrants who cannot make it here.

And now I just heard on the CBC this morning that the liberals are planning on bringing in another 300,000 more refugees into Canada within the next year. Isn't that just dandy. More people to suck off the system, and the taxpayer's in this country. Meanwhile there will now be Canadians who will have to get in line with these new refugees in the hospital lineup, and wait there turn. No wonder our medical system is dying, we keep adding more people to it. Canadians need to wake the heck up before we go bankrupt, thanks to politicians and their love for multiculturalism and refugees. We cannot afford to keep this up.

And where are all the environmentalists on this refugee issue? They cry about the trees and the frogs, and what is happening to them but yet are quiet on all the toll that all these new immigrants are going to do to their beloved environment. They should be the first people to shout out about this but the silence is deafening.

Like I said already if a new immigrant comes to Canada then they should know English, and learn to speak it quickly. Being allowed to put signs up in their own language is just not being or becoming Canadian. We speak English here, and they should be told that.

  15. This has already been explained multiple times. Go way back to post #2.

In short: Trump is a failure as a businessman, with multiple bankruptcies and a string of failed businesses under his belt. I would rather not put the economy in the hands of someone with that little business sense. Furthermore, the number of lies he tells exceeds those of other candidates, and his grasp of economics, politics and international relations is poor (e.g. pigs blood bullets, the 42% unemployment rate, etc.)

Uhh.. no. As has been explained multiple times in this thread...

Many feel that Trump's incompetence will be detrimental to the world as a whole, both economically and politically. Regardless of Trump's "friendliness" with Canada, or the desire to maintain good relations between the 2 nations, having the U.S. economy crash the way so many of Trump's business ventures have crashed will not be good for Canada.

And what makes you think that?

Prior to the ouster of Kadaffy, Trump was calling for the U.S. to get involved in Libya. (Of course, since then, he's gone and lied about the issue.) And, he has also called for the bombing of oil fields controlled by Isis. He has also said he would deliberately kill children.

Doesn't sound like a peacenick to me.

    http://www.usnews.com/news/politics/articles/2016-02-26/ap-fact-check-trump-objects-to-cursing

    http://www.factcheck.org/2015/11/trump-on-bombing-isis-oil-fields/

    http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2016/mar/3/donald-trump-says-hed-force-us-military-commit-war/

Trump has been sued multiple times. He is currently under investigation for fraud for his role in Trump University. (This is in addition to all the other businesses that have folded with Trump's name on them, leaving other investors on the hook for millions of dollars.)

Yeah, its easy to pick on other Candidates as being part of the "establishment", But if you are going to get rid of the establishment, you should try to replace it with something better.

Many people have started up many businesses, and some have lost most if not all of that business. Nothing new here. Remember Target?

So, you would prefer to put the hands of America into the hands of Hillary(who also has an indictment against her) who supports the bankster warmongers but not into the hands of someone who knows how to run a business and gets things done. Trump wants to see the end of government wasteful spending. He is going to take on the establishment, and the people who gave the world 2008. Hillary will be a disaster for America.

Trump has many businesses that are working just fine. Trump is worth billions, and those business enterprises that he owns are making lots of money for himself. It always amuses me as to why people will attack someone who tells it like it is, is doing pretty good with his business ventures, and says that the old Hillary establishment days are over, and the people will now come first. That works for me. Politicians pretty well lie all the time. When was the last time your representatives really told you the real story? So, why keep picking on Trump? I don't get it? Give the guy a chance. I want too.

It is obvious that you are not a Trump supporter so you only want to look for the faults in the man, but not some of the good. I am no angel, and neither is Trump, and neither is anyone here. We all have faults. But at least Trump appears to be more credible than the rest of the candidates do. And if you tried hard enough, I am sure you can find many faults in the rest of the Republican candidates running for President. During the debates, Trump has already pointed out a few faults of Rubio and Cruz. But that is not important, eh? Who cares? There are many who would rather have liars, as Trump has called some of them, as President rather than Trump. I have watched many of the debates, and I see nor feel any kind of threat coming from Trump. Trump wants to take on all the free trade deals which have cost the American people billions but which have made billions for corporations. i don't believe that any Canadian free trade deals have been good for Canada or Canadians either. Just my opinion, of course.

  16. What kind of expectation is that. You expect them just because they have come to Canada then they lose their identity as who they are and where they come from and lose their culture completely??? Like lose their traditions, celebrations, beliefs, may be even religion and language. Where in Canada immigration rules say all these?

As far as I know, there are no rules for what you are asking me. But from my understanding, new immigrants are told that Canada is a multicultural country thus most likely giving them the impression that their culture and language and religion are equal to all others, and that they can become a so-called Canadian, and that there is no need to assimilate if they don't want or need too. You can carry on just like back home. Assimilation? Not.

I don't expect new immigrants to come to Canada and they put up signs in their own language. Canada speaks English.Put up English signs. I don't speak a foreign language. What does the sign say? What are they doing here? If a new immigrant cannot post a sign in English but instead prefers to use his/hers language instead this is not assimilating. That is trying to start up your own beliefs and culture onto the host countries culture. If they want to hang on to their culture than keep it at home. This is what our multicultural and immigration policy is doing to Canada. It is starting to turn Canada into gettoes.

There was a business in a mall in Delta, BC many years ago where the last Canadian owner of that business was told that the malls owners wanted them to leave, and would not renew their contract. Apparently, from what was told to them, the Canadian owner was told that they did not fit in with the new immigrant culture group that had taken over the mall. You call that assimilating?

There was a case in a Richmond, BC mall where a white couple were told by an Asian business owner to get out of their Asian mall, and go shop in an American mall. You call this assimilation?

My friend had an altercation with an Asian customer in an Asian T&T store in the Coquitlam Mall one day over something that I cannot recall right now. After the altercation, my friend was told to go shop in an American store. Is this what you call assimilating, telling white Canadians to get out of their malls or stores? What an insult and a slap in the face to a born Canadian in her own country.

Just a couple of instances where the host Canadians are basically being told to get lost, this is our country now. Stay out of our malls and stores.

Yup, multiculturalism, isn't it just wonderful? I expect them to respect, not insult host Canadians in their own country. I am offended by the lack of respect and lack of sensitivity towards the host Canadian people. Just my opinion. :)

  17. No - it is a well founded fear based on the well documented actions of Trump in the past. And unlike some Canadians I am not reflexively anti-American and often support the Republican party policies. Trump is trouble and I hope Americans realize that before it is too late.

I would turn the question on you: can you point to anything in Trump's history that would suggest he would do well in his job a president?

I am at a real loss as to why some Canadians are in fear of Trump becoming President. Are they afraid that Trump is going to invade Canada? What I do not understand as to why they have this fear? What is it that they are afraid of?

I believe that the world has more to fear from Hillary becoming President than the world has to fear of Trump becoming President. He is not a warmonger, Hillary is. she is a part of the establishment. And they are always up to no good.
