You're an Irish union leader with autism? You're a difficult problematic encased in a religious truth that is incomprehensible to reason and knowable only through divine revelation? Ok, I understand now.

I started this because BD seems to concentrate on opposing most thing I say seemingly because he/she like to disagree with me, or at least does most of the time. I merely pointed that out and wanted to know his/her opinion and position on the issue, as he/she hasn't really said anything past opposing me. Some people, not necessarily or always BD, argue facts by quoting things from books all day without revealing any life experience with anything or taking a stance one way or another. To me you might as well take a typing class to do that. It's like trying to debate a living textbook. Life isn't about books. It's much more than that. Some things I think of in black and white, yes. This is one of them. I don't about all things and don't post on a lot of purely political threads at all because I'm not informed enough to even have an opinion. I just get tired of getting chewed on for the sake of it I do not think gays should be killed for being gay, and I wouldn't complain one bit if the USA felt they had motivation to wipe the government of Iran off the map so the people could live a decent life. All the other issues of oil, nukes, etc, are part of it too. That should be clear.

You guys are reading way too much into what he said. It was simple. What he was saying was the USA was p*ssed off and going to kick some major a**. We're going to shoot everyone who isn't marching with us and shooting in the same direction. Is that hard to understand? It was a simple call to arms to warn countries that they better sound off where they stand and to basically rally support for the war that was coming in one way or another. False dichotomy? People that speak language like that at a time like this get squashed under tank treads.

Yes I did. Here's another one. What do you think about the subject of this thread? That question is pre-supposed by the very context of the forum. Rather than merely counter and twist absolutely everything I say, why don't you stand up for yourself and tell us your views, separate and by themselves. You have a view on the world and life don't you? You're very good at digging up internet facts, better than I am. How about some views based on your life experience. I'm interested.

Can't see why the U.S. would have such a beef with Iran. the differences between the mullahs there and teh religious right that constitutes the backbone of the Republican party are only one's of degrees. That the corrupt Iranian religious establishment is loathsome should go without saying. But given the costs of direct intervention are borne overwhelmingly by the general populace, and given the titanic failure that Iraq's regime change is shaping up to be (the new, "democratic" Iraq will bear a strong resemblance to Iran due to their mutual idealogy), one should be loathe to pursue such a strategy. Of course one must first assume that the "liberator" has the interests of the oppressed in mind. That's seldom the case. And if it happens, as in every other historical case, it will be cloaked in such high minded rhetroic to conceal the real political and economic motivations. Debunked. Your sympathy for the victims is truely heart warming. Thanks for backing up my initial statement. Bollocks. You're loathing for homosexuals has resonated loud and clear since you began posting. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> BD, why don't you hand us your stance in the world for a change instead of waiting to see what everybody else has to say and then just trashing them? Posters like yourself are a dime a dozen. The back benches in parliament are full of guys like you. I like meaningful discussion. You don't seem to have a position on anything. Enlighten us.

Finally, some personality around here. I feel better.

Some insight to my inner self: Think Monty Python's Black Knight guarding the bridge skit. Now THAT'S funny.

I personally am hoping to tour the Mundare Sausage plant soon. Some relatives went there and said the food in the little resaurant they have was stellar. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Back in the old days 'sky was a big difference to 'ski. That could get you in trouble on the wrong side of town. Funny, around here sausage is named for the town it's made in. Actually Ryley sausage is pretty good too. The grand daddy of all sausages was Marchisen's. Not sure on the spelling. Made right there in Edmonchuck. Heard the old man died a few years back and the kids just couldn't keep the recipe right. That's when the real sausage wars of the 80's started and Mundare started to make a name for themselves. The butcher in Beaumont makes a hell of a good sausage too. We are really blessed in Alberta.

Queer Eye for the Straight Crazymf? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No. It's a horrific crime. What can anyone say seriously to even understand it? I spout sometimes a little off kilter. Walk a mile in my shoes, you'd understand. Of course you can't so you'll have to take my word for it. It was just some dark humor. Discard it after you read it.

I'm not sure which you are supporting - liberating the people, or going after the nukes and oil. Or maybe both. I agree that these boys didn't deserve to be hanged - my god, they were just kids. Not that it matters, but from the article it sounds like they weren't even gay, just two horny teenagers who couldn't have sex with teenage Iranian girls, so went for the next best thing. But I don't believe that the US is concerned with human rights violations like this as part of their foreign policy; they couldn't care less as long as they are ensuring America's interests are met. "Liberating" is just a convienient word that scores political points at home. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> See, this is a classic moment when you can spin this either way, depending on who peed in your life soup today. If you are pro US, like I am for the most part, then what they are doing makes sense. If you are anti US, then you can come up with all kinds of reasons they are wrong. This world changes because of people like GW, not like Paul who, oh Martin.
-
And where shall we put these 'liberated queers'? Your house? We'd just have to invade again. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Noooo, they wouldn't be useful around my house. Let's see...Iranian queers could be used for what? Uhhh...damn, I can't think of anything right now... I like that. Is that original?
-
The US didn't go in there to free oppressed people from human rights violations; they came up with that idea after they were already there, and found out there was no real basis for them to have attacked. If they set up a pro US government tomorrow, give Uncle Sam access to their resources, and allow them to use Iraq as a staging ground for their next target, do you really think the US will care what human rights violations are going on Iraq? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes I do. Because human rights violations would then fall under some kind of criminal code set up there after democracy is fully functional. And as far as Bush needing a reason to go to war there, neither you or I know the truth. I don't believe the truth has been told yet and it's too soon to pass judgement on that. I also don't think a few queers hanging in Iran will cause an invasion. It will be the nukes and the oil, just like Iraq. Only there will really be nukes this time. Even I do not agree with hanging queers. They could be useful for something besides hanging ornaments. Maybe Iran Airlines needs more stewardesses or something, or perhaps the country needs more hair stylists. Just remember what these people do to their own on a regular basis when and if you're inclined to dispute that the people need 'liberated'.

Canada Defends Its Sovereignty In The Far North

Uncle Sammmyy, come and saave uss!!!! -
Atheism is a religion with a dogma that is at least as rigid and uncompromising as any theist belief system. It is the dogma and articles of faith that must be accepted without question that define a religion - not the ceremonies or traditions. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sooooo....what might be the border line between a religion and a cult, such as Jimmy Jones or Charles Manson, or maybe the Seventh Day Adventisits.

If the Pals don't works toward peace now, Isreal would have every right to nuke those radicals into oblivion. This is their chance.

Here's some food for thought. What happens when the natural heat normally injected to the ground in a desert is taken away? Nothing. What happens when thousands of acres or hundreds of square miles of heat is diverted away from the ground. Will the weather pattern eventually be affected for the area? hmmm....

Not us Ukies, we got the Vegreville easter egg and perogie suppers in the church basement every 3 months.

Guys, who cares? It's pretty bad when humor incites partisan bickering. Just laugh at the jokes and post some more for us to read. I even found something funny about mirrors joke.
-
I'll see your and raise you a . My sense of humor is great. I crap on all the parties regularly. I didn't see a developing story to base a punchline on. All I saw was lame policy parodies with no ending. It just sort of stopped. Oh wait, that's why it must have been funny, because it wasn't.HAHAHAHA A little reverse humor there. Now I get it. Good one.
-
<{POST_SNAPBACK}> That's not funny, witty or in any way humorous. It's true though.

In Saudi Arabia, the legal maximum sentence for practicing homosexuality is beheading. In China, it isn't officially admitted to exist. Formal charges would fall under 'offensive behaviour'. In the US, many states still can convict under 'sodomy laws' (though it doesn't carry the death sentence). I condemn the act and all religion. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Would that include the athiest religion. http://worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=45874 <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Jeez, what next......Perhaps the Fundamentalist Holy Shrine of the Golden Arches?
-
Well, I guess you mean me and I'll talk all I want. I do condemn this act. This is a human rights issue, not a grab for oil. If the States move on Iran, they best check on all the rights violations of their buddies, the Saudi's. Because you see, they think they can have it both ways. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Uncle Sam will straighten them all out eventually. I just expect the same liberal anti everything types around here to be opposed to this just as much as the war. It takes tough men to do tough jobs. Now the new Iran leader is one of the old hostage takers, nice. Won't be long.....boom. Just remember those poor queer bastards when the USA goes in and starts cleaning out Iran. With the nuclear proliferation problems, it's going to happen IMO.

This is not rocket science or new info. I'm not getting down on you. It'a a great idea, just not new. As an electrical dude, I've been aware of this for years. Several points of consideration that are prohibitive. Photo voltaic cells are expensive, really expensive. The rv ones are cheap and don't really make any usable power past a light bulb. Also, photocells have a life. They lose efficiency after a few years and become useless. Power is not to be played with for safety reasons and to have every T,D or H connected to the grid with his own version of the perfect generation system spells disaster. Electrical deaths would skyrocket. There may be some kind of a market for a private dude to maintain small systems, but that would add to the cost. I've considered spending 100g to put a 100kw system on my business roof, but haven't got much past thinking about it. I'll let youse know if it ever gets to the top of the todo list. I have been heating both my acreage and my business with coal fired boilers for years now. 6 years ago, my gas bill for the year was 6g at my home place. I still pay on average 1.5g for coal, plus I now heat a 40x70 foot shop. My business uses 1.5 tons/day of coal in the winter, which adds up to about 45$/day. The cost of gas would be about 4 times that or more. I try to burn more when the wind is blowing toward Edmonton.

Someone Tell the President the War is Over

That would be the English blunderbuss I assume? Especially for the older ladies? LMAO!!! -
Mass suicide in Ottawa perhaps would be appealing.
