  1. Ya I thought it was Brian Mullroney whom had single hanidly did all this.Where is he now?Probably waiting for another inquirey to pull him out of no-where.
  2. Deffinetly a bad news poll for the opposition . However there still has bein no campaign, television debates, etc, etc. Much can swing still If the polls don't improve for the opposition in 2 weeks then there will be a growing concern. WWWTT
  3. Oh and where do you keep this so called "Irony meter",in your pants? . And now that your irony meter has exploded were will you take it to be repaired and how much will it cost to get repaired and how long will it take and will the parts to have it repaired need to be ordered in? Will you need to get three quotes on repair costs and does your insurance cover this so called irony meter. You know what buddy I'm starting to think that this irony meter doesn't actually exist. I'm starting to think your just trying to trick the taxpayer into paying for something that doesn't even really exist. Oh ya your smart buddy, real smart. WWWTT
  4. I think that Canadians are generally predictable. They have bein acting in the same manner for the last 20 or so years. When Cretien was in power he had a nickname teflon John. It seems to be a general rule that any political party in power when times are good are automatically given 10% in polls, opinion and election. I do not believe this will be any different if a coalition was in power. Question is will each of the participating parties still recieve an automatic 10% in the polls? WWWTT
  5. Two things you did wrong again(man I'm sounding like a broken record) First you have confused knowledge with intelligence required for insight.Ya you got alot of facts here I'll admit that.Still is not proof you have connected all the dots buddy.Nice try. Second you keep cherry picking buddy. You think I wouldn't notice man.Thats the dead giveaway of partisan behavior budy I'm not going to respond anymore to you here on this allright. You need a blanket or a friend or what I don't even want to go there man. To me you have lost all entertainment value and are starting to sound like some rambling street person trying to save everyone from the evil in our society.Actually no more like a lawyer rambling on and on about some stupid legal details that bores everyone to the point that they are looking for any excuse to end the conversation and get out of his office as soon as possible and never return,to only turn to one another to say"Wow I never thought that guy would shut up"."Its a good thing you came up with that excuse about having to meet up with a client this afternoon or we would still be there listening to him ramble on endlessly until the ends of time" Ya I would say you sound more like the lawyer senario, the homeless guy has much more entertainment value and would actually captivate me.Sorry homeless guy if I had implied you are like Toad. Good luck WWWTT
  6. Harry I wouldn't pay any attention to Scotty. He is set in his ways and will vote conservative because that is all he knows. You can almost say he will take Harper to the grave.Sad really but predictable. WWWTT
  7. Two things where you are wrong: First of all if the coalition wanted to topple the Harper government in the begining of 09 they would have done so already.Do you really think they would be stupid enough to do so right away without testing the waters first?Use your head buddy. You are not thoroughly thinking this through. Secondly you got a big mouth. There was nothing ever discussed between the GG and Harper that all parties were not ever aware of.The largest pool of occupations the government draws its MPs from is the law society(mainly lawyers)They are all aware of any possible scenario and every move is well calculated and any concievable outcomes are given a reasonable percentage of probability. And this is all weighed and mulled over long before anything is made public. Man you got a long way to go buddy Good luck WWWTT
  8. Good reply Harry and very true! Some people only think Harper is smart because he has not said anything stupid. Not saying something stupid is not evidence you are brilliant. Some people here can't get their heads around this. WWWTT
  9. Time will only tell toad. And you are forgetting one big thing. And that is Harper is far past his expirery date.I never said he was not smart.I will say he is not brilliant.Never has bein never will be.He has done nothing to prove that he is has or was or ever.Period.Just because the media may have mentioned that once or twice is not something to be given much merit. And if you think the Liberals and the NDP are not gonna hit home(Alberta,Saskatchewan)then it is you who is dilusioned with partisan biased influence. The knives are getting sharpened in the conservative ranks, ready, waiting for the right moment. WWWTT
  10. Until a proposal becomes reality it will always remain a proposal. This is a fact. And the results are as they are,Are you arguing that the budget that followed this was not in any way influenced by this proposal? I never suggested that this was a trick. It was well calculated and excecuted to drive a tremendous fear into the conservatives. It has worked very well. It is also the shape of things to come in Canadian politics. An introduction to the public. But the public was not yet ready for it(nor the liberals) WWWTT
  11. In principle I agree with you Toad. However I think that the coalition are looking for seats from what the conservative hold now.Such as Saskatchewan,Alberta,BC,Manitoba and Ont. And not necessarily in this upcoming election but over the next 6-10yrs. Its going to be hard to pry those seats away from them. We will not see any party making a coalition with Harper ever.If there was a chance it would have happened long ago. No this is going to be a long drawn out battle. It will cost Harper his time in politics and after the coalition toppels the Harper minority he will resign and many of his henchmen will flee to other perties like the libs and ndp. WWWTT
  12. Actually Toad I think you are wrong. The last coalition was only a proposal to twist Harpers arm for a budget favorable to many Canadians. And it worked brilliantly. In actual fact much bravo can be attributed to this coalition proposed in early 09. I know many people in the Liberal ranks do not agree with it but whats the alternative? At some point of time people are going to become aware that the Liberals are putting their needs ahead of the electorate and the consequences could be harsh for them. WWWTT
  13. Ya I got a real problem with your opinion here wild bill. First of all the majority of Canadians do not even freakin vote.Second of all an opinion poll is not an election. And thirdly don't go on about some obscure rules of parliament. When you vote in Stoney Creek(nice town by the way)did you ever see Steven Harpers name on the ballot? And why is that? Its because this is Canada not the United States and we have a different type of system here that is more(not completely) democratic. WWWTT
  14. Like it or lump it,when you vote for an MP your involvement in democracy is over until the next election.Regardless of the outcome of the election. And here I am stating a fact not opinion. If 155+ MPs want to form a majority government then whats the matter with that? If Harper can't do it is it Laytons problem or Ignatieff's? If you do not like what the MP's do after they are elected then yes you do have a problem with democracy in Canada. And there is nothing wrong with your opinion. WWWTT
  15. In reality a coalition government is every single minority or majority government elected to parliament in Canada federally and provincially. In other words a political party, such as the conservatives, are really a coalition of MP's united under one banner. The same goes for all other parties with one exception-independants. This fact has bein lost to most people. WWWTT
  16. Another prime example of Ignatieff saying stupid things. Not the first time. Thats why Harper says very little But at the same time he is not going for the true blue votes. He knows that they are a waste of time.He is targeting a more narrow group of swing voters. And possibly trying to provoke the conservatives into a race to the biggest blunder. WWWTT
  17. And I wasted my time reading your article WWWTT
  18. Instead of any leaders coming out about a coalition durring a campaign, maybe the voters should take a refresher course on how the Canadian parliamentary system works,a brief history and possible outcomes. WWWTT
  19. Of course I am biased in my opinions.I never claimed to be unbiased. The point I am trying to make with this thread is that political reform is strongly needed in Canada to properly reflect the diversity in opinion integral to the Canadian landscape. And a coalition strongly reflects this. Not a conservative minority. Whats wrong with democracy? WWWTT
  20. Take a look at the polls after Harper prorouged parliament, both times. Take a look at the polls after Ignatief was elected to the liberal leadership. Polls are not an election Elections come after 36 days of "in your face campaigning" WWWTT
  21. Harper in the high 40s or over 50% public support? Never man! That's absolutely ridiculous The conservatives are lucky to even see the high 30s as is.I'll even put money on it. Not just that public opinion polls come to you,on election day you have to go to the poll.Big difference there. Everybody here also forgot about the greens.Allbeit they do not have a seat, there's still the possibility of picking some up and maybe in the future having a voice in the lower house. I am proposing that after the coalition topples the Harper minority,Harper will call it quits. The conservatives will pick up the pieces and put someone strong forward to replace him.But by this time the economy will be building steam and the coalition will be reaping in the rewards and the conservatives may be even publicly criticized for trying to oppose the best thing for Canada since the BNA act of 1867. WWWTT
  22. When did Henry VIII learn how to play bridge?
  23. This recent topling of the conservatives has many people scratching their heads wondering why now. Many old schoolers use to liberal or conservative majority seem to be the most baffled. But if your thinking of forming a coalition it makes all the sence in the world. Harper is on shaky ground. There are five major parties in Canada and four with representation in the lower house. The days of a one on one fight are long gone and to survive your gonna need friends. The conservatives are really hurting in this department and the opposition smells blood. After all the opposition consist of mostly left wingers. And it looks like the opposition really want to bruise up Harper in the process with this non confidence motion In my opinion Canada is long overdue for political reform and a coalition will provide some much needed relief in this department WWWTT
  24. Your right toad Only time will tell But stating the obvious takes all the fun out of it If I am right I will boast and say"In your face" If I am wrong I will hope you forget and go on to some other rant. Politics for me has to have at least a 50% entertainment value or I lose interest Right now Canadian politics is at arond 72.46% entertainment value(I just came up with that figure because it amuses me) But I think that value ratio is much lower if you are a conservative.Because so much is at stake for Harper the conservatives don't really want an election.Status quo is the motto for the conservatives now. The conservatives don't like spring elections(just ask Kim Campbill) WWWTT
