  1. You're right - we should spread the tanks equally between Israel, Syria, Iran.....
  2. The bottom line is: this is fun to watch the left in this quagmire :) How can a group whose membership used to burn bras, then defend the burqa? Haha - let's see how the left reconciles it's championing of women's rights with the mysoginistic ways of fundamentalist islam.
  3. Oil is a "value" now? Jesus, geoffery, I don't know how you can spout stuff like that in one breath and in the next say: When the same incompetents runnming the show now (and looking to run the show in the futuie) are the same people who got us where we are today by pushing "solid economic values." Or did the sudden lack of a debt turn all the geniuses stupid? Or, could it be there is an independent variable at work that is responsible for Alberta's success? Like say, the massive increase in global oil and gas prices in the last few years? Your attitude (which is all too common in this province, especially among carpetbaggers who have adopted Alberta and taken its self-aggrandizing mythos to heart) reminds me of the old saying: "Some people are born on third base and go through life thinking they hit a triple." The ALberta government first started making painful cuts when oil was at $13 per barrel. The fact that they got their fiscal house in order during rough periods is a testament to the government and the province is now able to enjoy its windfall because of difficult decisions made before the boom. Way to go Ralph! You've done it again
  4. My posts go back to a question I was asked as to whether I would be prepared to use force in the event a part of the country decided to secede. I was trying to point out to the person who asked the question that one might not have a choice. I don't dispute what you say about the legality of it, just that in such a situation people may act regardless of legality resulting in chaos. Well, the tories aren't in trouble as long as the Libs best of breed is some self-contradicting bookworm named Iggy.
  5. Is it just me, or is the UN anti-American, anti-Israel bias starting to look pretty weak in the face of more continued agression by Hezbollah and the rest of the Jihad....
  6. Yikes, thats a bit Orwellian for my tastes. How many politicians would be jailed for having views contrary to popular opinion. Let's be honest about the situation, alright? He's not just got "views contrary to popular opininion". He's spreading disinformation that is contrary to science, and through his obfuscation he endangers the planet. Since when has science been able to see the future?? Need I point out to you that in the '70's, the majority of the world's scientists were convinced we were headed for the next ice age?
  7. Who is James Hoggan? Terence Corcoran Financial Post Thursday, November 16, 2006 To viewers of last night's edition of CBC-TV's The Fifth Estate, a "documentary" titled The Denial Machine, the name James Hoggan will be familiar. Mr. Hoggan is the talking head who loomed late in the program to issue lofty pronouncements on the science of climate change. His main role, though, was to provide a Canadian link in the program's grand conspiracy theory about scientists who are skeptical of global warming. For non-viewers of last night's presentation, here's a hint of the show's theme: Exxon did it. **Remaining Post Removed**
  8. Mmhmm. And what do domestic terror attacks (London, Madrid, Bali), alleged "plots" (London, T.O.) the kind we've seen before and tend to collapse under examination (as thes etwo almost inevitably will), domestic unrest linked to a small, poverty stricken minority (Paris), a nationalist war (Chechnya) and a myth (Muslim "control" over Europe) have to do with the threat posed by foreign terrorists? The answer, to anyone not a conspiracy nut who soils their trou at he sight of a swarthy man with a beard, is nothing. They are Muslim extremist violence. And represent the globalization of the Muslim extremist violent agenda.
  9. Great point. Its just a continuation of the basic double standard long held by lefties.
  10. Here's a question for you, Leafy: If there are oodles of terrorists so intent on causing our destruction and willing to go to absurd lengths (such as aqcuring a nuclear device) to do it, where the hell are they? In the 5 years since 9-11, and despite the billions spent on counter terrorism efforts, the government has turned up virtually nothing to justify the fears of an omnipresent terrorist threat. Despite years of dire warnings about the readiness, will and capabilities of the terrorists, they've been strangely quiet. Why do you think that is? What are they waiting for? Or, could it be that the terrorist threat has been grossly inflated and that you and your ilk are pissing your pants over nothing? oh - u mean besides: london tube bombings, london air plot foiled, madrid bombings, firebombings of the danish embassy over cartoons, Bali bombings, Toronto terror plot, contant paris rioting, chechnya school murders, and general muslim exertion of control in europe? i guess nothing.
  11. This is news? Wait a few years. The head of the insurgency was celebrating that the dems gained seats. Wait till Hilary is president. We'll see how the world starts to unfold then...
  12. Has anyone seen this absolutely comedically bad film? How brutally simplistic and pretentious can one film be?
  13. Yeah? Well, I want a pony. Doesn't mean I'm gonna get one. IOW, there's a few steps in between having nuclear "aspirations" and actually acquiring nuclear weapons (which are extremely difficult to obtain or build). It's simple: these doomsayers are simply trying to justify their budgets. Sounds like global warming
  14. As I said above, part of Cohen's act is showing the tolerance people show Borat. What you seem to miss, from my post and the movie, was that in other cases he brings out the bigot in people. Please don't tell me that when he gets people to say things like "we should bring back slavery" and "all gays should hang" that he's showing or mocking how tolerant our society is. Unless of course "you can't understand" the movie. Why would you say that? It could also be a microcosm of whats really happening in the world: We allow holocuast-denying leaders who plan to anhialate the jews an audience at the UN don't we? Forty years ago who would've ever thought we would do that?
  15. Hating war is not the same as pacifism. How corageous can it be to stand up to a bunch of cowardly pantywaists? You must be a real wimp if you're scared of them. It's pretty clear you have no fucking idea what courage means. Courage is to face difficulty, adversity, danger or the prospect of physical harm without fear. What danger are you in posting on a message board? What adversity lurks behind your computer screen? Hmmm? See how testy you guys get? Imagine trying to support our country's mission at a party of your type? Certainly a lefty pantywaiste like you and your cronic pals doesn't present too much of a physical threat (although there are even strength in ninny-numbers). However when speaking out in support of our toops and our mission, it can certainly be an unpopular subject amongst academics and pantywaists like you. So I venture to say there is certainly at least some social courage in espousing unpopular opinions. ANyway, *I* think so. If you disagree you have the right to. I simply like being on the side of right and good. Your protests are telling, though. You certainly seem to want to convince SOMEBODY (yourself?) that supporting a defacto return to the Taliban is a good thing
  16. The Washington Post is one of the worst lefty offending rags of the bunch!!! But still - Agreed - it's a misperception that cuts a good cross section.
  17. You can get it on satellite and cable, you have to pay for it, it's not with the basic packages. I find that you hear more on Fox news that CBC would never tell you about. The left is bitching because they don't want people to hear all sides and don't have the media completely sewn up. I have Starchoice here in BC and it is included in my basic package. I have to 99 cents extra to receive MSNBC. God Bless it!!
  18. If his mum had written a book, it would be important. David Frum is just another neocon dish washer. Barabara Frum? BAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAA you must be from Ontario.
  19. ah yes - the tried and true "John Lennon" approach to foreign policy again only revealing the different colour sky in your world
  20. Are you still here? I thought maye you ducked down to the recruiters. Here, let me help you:Forces.ca Mighty prescient, those poppy people, coming out with their symbol a good 15 years before the Nazis came along. again - missing the forest for the trees
  21. Hey! That's my bit! Quit stealing my bit! Here it is, folks: the Endgame. We've stablished that Jerry's courageous contribution consists of little more than "speaking out". In the abscence of any other possibility, we can conclude that the act of speaking out is, in and of itself, an act of courage (according to Jerry). But, if "speaking out" is itself an act of courage, then, by Jerry's reasoning, all those damn dirty leftist pinkos protestin' the war on the streets and internet message boards of our nation are not the cowardly "pantywaists" he (charmingly) says they are. In point of fact, they are as courageous as Jerry for "speaking out". This puts our boy Jerry in a bit of a logical bind where he must either concede that the pinkos are not cowards, or, should he maintain his accusations of cowardice, be damned as a coward himself. The third option would be to acknowledge that "speaking out" isn't really all that courageous an act in a country where free speech is guaranteed and any moron with a modem and a Colecovision can trumpet his opinion from the comfort of his or her own home behind the security of pseudonym. But that would show everyone that Jerry hasn't done anything special at all, which is not what he's been protesting here. What will happen next? I don't know, but I'll say this: this beats working. Unfortunately for us - in today's world, "protesting" against the war on Terror isn't very courageous. Unfortunately for us, it takes a whole lot more courage to stand up to people like you. Good thing there are still some of us left

  23. Sorry, but where's the contradiction? Can you name one other than World War 2? WWII is the easy one to pick because it had a villain that everybody hates and everybody agrees on. However, it was hardly the only situation where armed intervention was right, or where not making armed intervention was wrong. Not going to East Timor or Rwanda was a crime against humanity, in my opinion. How about Darfur? Do you put any faith in the view that "all that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing"? I do. -k Kimmy it's pointless arguing with someone who splits hairs. DOGGY sounds like Bill Clinton when he said "it depends upon your definition of the word 'THE' " Simple: The PPU and it's white symbol opposes war at all costs. The red poppy commemorates a war, a sacrifice, and a victory against Nazis. They contradict. Someone like DOGGY might in his little mini-creation of a world in his brain find a left-wing convoluted rationalization as to why they don't contradict, but to the Poppy-Public the symbols are contradictory. And even to the PPU-mission-researching-public they are contradictory. It's amazing how you can step away from a disussion, then come back to it and see clearly how a lefty headspinner can take a simple issue like this and actually try to turn it into a legitimate debate about whether or not peace poppies contradict war poppies.

The left is bitching because they don't want people to hear all sides and don't have the media completely sewn up. It's so true. Lefties are the worst.
  25. In a recent UCLA study of 20 major media companies for potential bias, 18 scored left of center and only two (Fox news and the Washington Times) scored right of center. And when you hear lefties bitching about FOX news, it's obvious they're looking to discredit the lone voice of reason to completely control the media outright. They're looking for the clean sweep. FOX news is a shining star. Why can't we get it in Canada?
