  1. No. No. Yes and tbd. Yes in that the issues discovered were highlighted and given time to be addressed prior to and after the IOC. TBD if said issues have been addressed prior to the USMC deploying said squadron aboard a LHD with operational mission requirements......
  2. No, the previous Government already paid for the AOPS and CCG vessels under construction now......the current Government has to pay for the remainder of the vessels to be ordered inside this mandate. Per their fiscal plan, they don't have said money budgeted, since the bulk of the vessels won't be ordered inside this mandate. Simple concept.
  3. Said report covered the trials aboard the USS Wasp, several months prior to the IOC. Said trials were a "proof of concept".
  4. No, by their own fiscal plan........feel free to highlight where the tens of billions of dollars is to come from.....
  5. Not at all, as I said, they are being "ignored" already, likewise the "root cause" of most crime.
  6. Riiiight.......since they've yet to define (or review and define again), let alone design the vessel, I think start of construction even in the following mandate is lofty.......
  7. No, I'm "fixated" on asymmetric and A2/AD warfare versus refighting the Battle of the Atlantic against a one dimensional foe......
  8. Has Irving bought more real estate on the harbor front?
  9. I clearly mentioned my error, if your're going to play games I can't be bothered.
  10. In a high or medium threat environment, with a foe armed with supersonic anti ship missiles, yes they are.
  11. How is Irving going to start building a vessel, yet to be designed, in a yard that will be building the final AOPS vessels? Are you suggesting Trudeau is going to cancel or postpone the AOPS timeline now?
  12. I see, so the ships might be able to defend themselves, but not the AOR or civilian vessels.......kinda defeats the purpose of having a navy.
  13. Not at all, as I've been saying for weeks, based on his own fiscal plan, he has no intention of ordering them inside this mandate.
  14. Not at all, I think conflating the data with near daily gang hits in the United States, into events such as this one involving the wanton killing of "regular people", be it from a nutbar or a terrorist, is disingenuous.
  15. You just said it yourself!!!
  16. Except, sans a modern AAD capability, we won't.
  17. So cover to go back on their promise.......got it.
  18. I was to assume the OP was wishing to discuss the one in California.......as opposed to the daily "mass shootings" in the trailerhoods of the South or in the ghetto of major cities.
  19. Back to our fleet of the 1970s
  20. Of course it hasn't, but talk of reviews and spending shortfalls is a stark difference from the prior promises just weeks ago to commit to building all the vessels required to have blue water navy......
  21. Agreed......The Spanish engineers involved in their submarine program misplaced a decimal point, resulting in a weight gain of the subs that would result in said subs being unable to resurface........$@!^ happens.
  22. Interruption of regularly scheduled programming, combined with warranting a new topical thread on MLW?
  23. The IOC is but a reality, the F-35B squadron is an actual squadron, displacing legacy aircraft.......its not a LockMart parlor trick. Sure, we're speaking to the recent IOC of the USMC's STOVL squadron of F-35's in combination to your cited report..... Such as? (The report, IIRC, also mentioned the gun pod not being deployed, the F-35 B & C use a gun pod, the F-35A has an internal gun that will be operational with the USAF's IOC next summer)
  24. Sure, 30 people killed and injured is a regular week in some inner city neighborhoods.........if I put on CNN right now, would they have 24/7 coverage of gang killings in Greater Chicago or Detroit?
  25. Not ordering "interim" vessels, where needs are critical, from overseas as a shot across the bows of our domestic shipbuilders.......likewise, as I outlined earlier in this thread, setting a budget than design/building vessels as opposed to the inverse.
