Canadian Green Party Official Afganistan Opium Policy adopted by the European Union !

Its finally starting to change , I can see the walls coming down.

Afghanistan: European Parliament calls for a pilot project on legal production of opium

25/10/2007

Following a similar recent statement of the Italian Parliament, backed by Emma Bonino and the Italian Government, the European Parliament is the first international institution to give such an endorsement. The conversion of Afghan opium - one of the major sources of funding for criminal and terrorist organisations - into medicines could pave the way to the construction of a State based on the rule of law that could be acceptable in rural areas of Afghanistan. At the same time, it could also put an end to the chronic lack of medicines for pain therapy, which today still concerns 80% of the world population.

Ottawa-based soldier charged with trafficking pot, hash

THE CANADIAN PRESS

Published Monday November 5th, 2007

OTTAWA - An Ottawa - based soldier has been charged with allegedly trafficking pot and hash following an 11-month investigation by military police.

The Canadian Forces National Investigation Service said Monday it had charged Master Corporal Steven Pearson with five counts related to the alleged trafficking and possession of marijuana and hashish.

The military's national investigation service began investigating Pearson in January 2006 using an undercover operator.

Few details surrounding the charges were available Monday afternoon, and a Canadian Forces spokeswoman did not immediately return phone calls.

These latest charges follow several incidents in recent months of alleged drug trafficking within the military.

Four crew members of the HMCS Saskatoon were charged after a military police unit launched an undercover sting operation targeting the small coastal patrol ship in early 2006.

And at Canadian Forces Base Gagetown, N.B., five soldiers were charged last year under the National Defence Act with trafficking in cocaine, ecstasy and marijuana.

Drugs flood oilsands city, but residents differ on dangers

Ted Goodnough and Thompson Bros. Construction Ltd. agree on one thing - there are a lot of drugs on the streets of Fort McMurray.

"It's the drug capital of the world," said Goodnough.

But while the 54-year-old truck driver says that drug culture also extends well into the workplace - creating "an environment of fear and intimidation" - Darell White disagrees.

"That's like saying that everybody who works in Fort McMurray is a crackhead, and that's just not true," said the health and safety manager for Thompson and its 1,200 employees.

Goodnough, a former Thompson employee, and White also disagree on the cause of a collision at the Highway 63 twinning project just south of the city last week that saw one of Goodnough's colleagues back a 40-ton rock truck into the one he was sitting in.

Hi Cappy !

Thanks for your comments.(you may in fact be a rooster(date of birth wise)

Anyhooo.......

In Saskatchewan yesterday we were the only party to quadruple our vote!(great for my old home area)

Yes I know we have a long way to go but 2.4 % is enough to cause loses for prohibitionists as we continue to educate and grow our team.

http://www.greenparty.ca/en/node/3127

The Green Party of Saskatchewan almost quadrupled it’s vote last night over the 2003 provincial election results. The party won 2% of the vote running it’s first ever “virtual full slate.” The party fielded 48 candidates in the province’s 58 ridings.

The Greens won 2.7% in Regina and 2.4% in Saskatoon. In rural areas the GPS won 1.5%. The lower percentage in the rural ridings is due to running in only 21 of the 31 rural ridings. Had GPS had candidate in all 31 rural ridings the party could have won 2.2% in rural areas.

In 2003 the party (then called the New Green Alliance) fielded 27 candidates and won 0.55% of the vote. So in this 2007 election almost doubled it’s number of candidates and more than doubled the average vote per candidate. continued in link......

2.4%??? Your kidding me? Your celebrating 2.4%. I love how pathetic the Green party is in Canada. And how pathetic it will remain.

It wasn't even 2.4%. It was 2.0%

Sad. Sad. Your agenda doesn't sell. Face it. You are anticipating all of these gains that simply never will materialise. Most Canadians have more important things on their mind than getting high 24/7. Your doing a major disservice to a party that's already struggling to be credible.

This is provincial and still not even a full slate.

Here in BC it took 12 years to get 3% and in the next election here

I will make you a bet we take seats!

The ndp here knows it !

Watch Jane Sterk and the BC Greens in this next one mark my words.

Its a snow ball process and has been building for some time and when it reaches critical mass even people like you will jump on in mass just to eventually help stop the crap the others still blatantly perpetrate and still get away with like the voter and our country don't matter.

I know it will take time and things happen to change things all the time.

Until I see it different I will continue.

We want to end the mentality that results in things like a world where it actually takes law suits just to bring in obvious things like seat belts after 59 years of needless deaths and long court battles.

The mentality of wilful negligence causing stupid man enabling asthma at now 10 fold increases because of cowardly politicians and years of corporate environmental control by campaign contribution dictation.

Where the richest corporations get subsidized feeding on our own resources and children go to our schools hungry.

Where now even cancer has become a childhood disease.

And even our drinking water kills more than any cannabis.

I know just how stupid the silent masses can be so you don't have to keep belittling our work here as its obvious at least to me that deep down in that crusty exterior you are as hopeful as we are ,,,,, you are here still following us right?

I dont pretend to be a medical user or even say it is my holy church ritual

but I dont pretend to not use my computer or television either.

I will say all 3 have taught me more than probably any other thing I could possibly think of right now including all people and all so called loves.

Thanks for taking the time.

Todays news:

http://www.ctv.ca/servlet/ArticleNews/stor...1105?hub=Health

Teens who smoke pot but not cigarettes appear to be more likely to get good grades, play sports and live with both parents than those who also use tobacco, finds a surprising new study from Switzerland.

What's more, the study found that teens who smoke pot were more likely to have a good relationship with their friends than teens who smoked neither tobacco nor pot, found the study published in the November issue of Archives of Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine.

To conduct the study Dr. J. C. Suris and colleagues at the University of Lausanne, Switzerland, analyzed data from a 2002 national survey of almost 5,300 Swiss students aged 16 to 20 years. Of the group, 455 smoked marijuana exclusively, 1,703 smoked marijuana and tobacco, and 3,105 abstained from both substances.

The survey also found that, compared with students who used both substances, students who smoked marijuana only were more likely:

to be male (71.6 per cent vs. 59.7 per cent),

to play sports (85.5 per cent vs. 66.7 per cent)

to live with both parents (78.2 vs. 68.3)

to have good grades (77.5 vs. 66.6).

The authors note that although teens who smoke both marijuana and tobacco seem to have more psychosocial problems, those who smoke marijuana only should be monitored closely too. They note as well that marijuana use has increased in recent years among teens in Switzerland and other European countries.

"The situation of those adolescents who use cannabis but who declare not using tobacco should not be trivialized," the authors conclude.

The green party are hypocrites..They elct ex-liberals and ex-tories to be their leaders and say they support decriminalizing marijuana. They have an environmental policy that mimickes the tories plan eg. carbon taxes and the sale of pollution credits.

Give me a break the greens are full of hypocracy. Let them on the national debate and we can expose them for what they are they gray party

I've done informal surveys and found that teens who smoke pot and don't drink are less likely to throw empty bottles from their car, scream gibberish at 4 in the morning outside your window, or puke on your shoes and want to fight you over it.

Subject: What do deer think?

WHAT DO DEER THINK?

Ted Nugent, rock star and avid bow hunter from Michigan, was being interviewed by a French journalist and animal rights activist. The

discussion came around to deer hunting. The journalist asked, "What do you think is the last thought in the head of a deer before you

shoot him? Is it, 'Are you my friend?' or is it 'Are you the one that killed my brother?' "

Nugent replied, "Deer aren't capable of that kind of thinking. All they care about is, 'What am I going to eat next? Who am I going to screw next,? Can I run fast enough to get away? They are very much like the French.' "

The interview ended at that point

I will I think just write some of you off as my time is very limited.

I am Green and toxic substances are best left festering in and with themselves.

from the link:

As the third largest party, I see no possible way that the TV network consortium can keep Elizabeth out of the televised leaders debates -- but then they don't feel responsible at all to principles of fairness, equity and they certainly don't care that 77% of Canadians believe Elizabeth should be included in the debates -- including a majority of supporters of the Conservatives, NDP, Liberals and Bloc.

It's important to note that in the Ontario provincial election -- the last six polls conducted by six different polling companies just prior to the October 10 election when added together and averaged out, pegged the Green Party of Ontario at 8% -- as noted by Greg Morrow of DemocraticSpace. And the GPO won exactly 8% -- meaning that the Green Party's vote has hardened over the 2006 election. There was no slippage due to strategic voting. Canadians are just getting deeply worried about climate change and realize the old parties have done nothing about it.

Get ready for some real shake ups in Canadian politics in the coming week and months. Canadians are even more disillusioned with all the old-line traditional parties than they have been in past. Recent developments in the past two weeks can shake the Conservatives to the core and create a major realignment.

No law exists against cannabis possession in Ontario !!

http://canadianpress.google.com/article/AL...TimaZFtPjpG9zmQ

In a judgment released yesterday of a decision he rendered in Oshawa

on October 19, Justice Edmondson of the Ontario Court of Justice

dismissed charges against three young men accused of simple possession

of marijuana, declaring that "there is no offence known to law which

the accused have committed."

Justice Edmondson said that he found to be "persuasive" the reasoning

of a judgement released on July 13 and 26 by Justice Borenstein (also

of the Ontario Court of Justice) which had previously found the

prohibition to be invalid; both judges declared that the Medical

Marijuana Access Regulations are unconstitutional, which automatically

makes the overall prohibition legally invalid.

"This has been my view for years," said Prof. Doug Hutchinson, a

professor of philosophy at the University of Toronto and himself an

authorized user of medical marijuana. "The prohibition of the

possession of marijuana has been invalid since 2001 July 31, the

anniversary of the Parker ruling." He publicly predicted that he would

be able to prove the invalidity of the prohibition to the first judge

he could get to consider the arguments; and this prediction was

fulfilled on October 19 in Oshawa.

Alberta seeks new use for hemp

$2.25-million research project hopes to blend plant fibres with plastics

Hanneke Brooymans, The Edmonton Journal

Published: 2:06 am

EDMONTON - For centuries, humans have found practical uses for hemp, weaving it into items such as rope and clothing. Now the Alberta Research Council wants to tighten those bonds by determining more cutting-edge uses for this versatile plant.

A new two-year, $2.25-million project hopes to find ways to blend Alberta-grown hemp fibres with locally produced plastics to create more sustainable materials......continued in link

Here is four guys killed by the results of the marijuana industry and drug use:

http://www.cbc.ca/gfx/images/news/photos/2...e-rcmp-grp-.jpg

I couldn't help but sign up and comment when I seen this thread...... as I think it is strongly misrepresenting the green party, but regardless of that I wanted to share a link:

http://quitsmoking.about.com/cs/antismoking/a/statistics.htm

here's a random link to one of the thousands of pages of statistics about tobacco smoking. It is much more educational to realize that the governments allow tobacco companies to sell their product regardless of the effects devastating people on a global level. I do not smoke cannabis myself, but I do smoke cigarettes and I only wish it was the other way around. I got hooked as a very young teenager and feel like it is destroying my health and I've witnessed first hand deaths due to cigarette smoking & know of more than only 4 victims myself.

Personally I don't think cannibus should be legalized but it does not make sense why it isn't legal when tobacco is allowed.
