weaponeer Posted July 26, 2007 Report Posted July 26, 2007 (edited) Link to original article Good News! Caution: this is a long article crammed full of facts; facts which will contradict the ‘stories’ being put about by politicians, journalists and anti-military academics and ‘peace activists.’ It might be dangerous, even subversive because it may cause some readers to actually understand what is happening in Afghanistan. It may shatter some belief sytems because the cold, hard facts are at odds with the prevailing 'wisdom' in Canada. Edited July 28, 2007 by weaponeer Quote

jdobbin Posted July 27, 2007 Report Posted July 27, 2007 http://ruxted.ca/index.php?/archives/75-GO...!!.htmlOnce again, I forgot the link, sorry. Here....... Lot of interesting information. CBC was doing a large report this Thursday on Afghanistan. What Brian Stewart has said is that there is a lot of internal government reports where the news have not been positive though. Most of the analysts who spoke say for this reason, Harper has been hedging. He knows that renewal comes up within 8 months and he has to have a policy in place. Stewart says that troops are rolling their eyes at the abilities and numbers of Afghan troops. Worse, the Karzai government is extremely weak and facing growing opposition. Quote
ScottSA Posted July 27, 2007 Report Posted July 27, 2007 Right now, at this moment, I'm working on a VC business plan for a new afghan telecommunications company. If the Taliban were in power I would most assuredly not be. Quote
Topaz Posted July 27, 2007 Report Posted July 27, 2007 I've read that in the north, west of Afghanistan there is progress being made but in the south were the fighting is, there isn't and can't be as long as there is fighting. If Bush is successful in going into Iran and nuking the hell out of it what do you think will happen to any foreign soldier in the Middle-East?? I still feel things are going to get alot worse before they get better and since the US has been in there since 2001, this isn't easy war. We can throw all the money into this country BUT is the money going to were its suppose go?? You have a corrupt govt, with war loads as ministers. I keep read Arthur Kent's sky reporter.com and read how the war is really going since he's over there living. Quote

What then for foreign soldiers in the mid east? Quote RIGHT of SOME, LEFT of OTHERS If it is a choice between them and us, I choose us
Harry Nads Posted July 31, 2007 Report Posted July 31, 2007 We should be focusing on gaining control of their opium fields. Canada can use the influx in money to support black ops. For the record, I support changing our focus in Afghanistan and ensuring that we gain control of the opium before the Americans beat us to the punch. Quote
