Maybe my post above (link) wasn't the happiest in the world, but happy belated Father's Day.
I read it and I think got your point.

Among the dimensions, Issac Newton wisely chose time as the derivative. Time is also key to Lorentz transformations and Einstein's special relativity. Time is even special to quantum theory. Time is a variable dimension yet it moves only one way. Time has no rewind button.

In short, you get one life and you can't go back and try it again. Our measure of time varies.

As to fathers, my father is a jerk. But he has an original command of English and his honest personality has made me open to life.

So true, and so regrettable.

I hope the day comes when either the reality or your perception changes. That is sincere, and not an attack.

Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there.

4 years: My Daddy can do anything!

7 years: My Dad knows a lot…a whole lot.

8 years: My father does not know quite everything.

12 years: Oh well, naturally Father does not know that either.

14 years: Oh, Father? He is hopelessly old-fashioned.

21 years: Oh, that man-he is out of date!

25 years: He knows a little bit about it, but not much.

30 years: I must find out what Dad thinks about it.

35 years: Before we decide, we will get Dad's idea first.

50 years: What would Dad have thought about that?

60 years: My Dad knew literally everything!

65 years: I wish I could talk it over with Dad once more.
