Topaz Posted May 4, 2007 Report Posted May 4, 2007 I came across an article that reports, the people are getting angry over the number of civilians being killed by the US and other NATO forces. Karzai called the head of NATO to a meeting to say he won't allow citizen to be killed, like the 50 last week. Also, Karzai is facing rising dissatisfaction over the development and rampant corruption in the country. He is said to be re-shuffling his cabinet very soon but there are senior members who are trying to curb Karzai powers by creating a post of Prime Minister , which would take away some of his powers. A new party was formed last month called the National Front Party, who will run against him in the next election. I have read in the past that Karzai's power, only goes as far as the capital city limits and no further. I think its safe to say, he is in trouble and were does this leave our military, who are dying for the people's freedom? A new party could come in and tell NATO to leave and then what? Quote

If this happens, don't worry - be happy! Quote

That's why you guys should tell Jack and Stephane to nix that silly idea of building a prison for the detainees! Just like you said, if we get kicked out of there....then what? More $$$$$$$ down the tube! Quote
