SOoooooooooooooo............................

Report this............

After spending millions attacking Dion, claiming to be perfect/righteous compared to Liberals while trying to hide all the scams, patronage AND being the biggest spending "new" government in history, the Harperites are lower in the polls than they were on election day and word is out that Steve is closing his big fancy campaign war room.

And I haven't heard that "new" government lingo lately. Has the shine dropped off exposing the crud underneath? And will the hypocrisy also now stop?

Has anyone googled this year's Parliamentary website to see how many times the CPC have used the terms thirteen years' and 'former government'? Anytime they are asked a tough question they bark out this rhetoric as their eyes roll around in their heads and the perspiration showers the House of Commons floor. When are they going to stop campaigning and get on with it? They are the government now, not the opposition, and it's their turn to be in the hotseat. Do they really think that they can divert our attention away from Afghanistan, the fact that our defense minister's (not so) former Hill & Knowlton clients are getting all the military contracts and that they are spending our money like college students on March break, with no thought to tomorrow? Oh, and they might be reminded that their are 10 provinces and 3 territories in Canada...not just Alberta and Quebec. Maybe I'll send them a map.

Reported. ;)

Lower in the polls than they were on election day?

Of the last six major polls released (Ipsos Reid, Decima, Angus Reid and SES) two have the Conservatives where they were on election day, three have them higher and one lower.

Which polls are you talking about?

I don't think they'll be closing the war room. They signed the lease until January or February IIRC.

Doesn't make sense just to close it for utilities.

They did pass the Accountability Act

The Selective Accountability Act? The Half Measures Act that cleans up parties in government (but maybe not Steve's own?) such as this:

While it bans former cabinet ministers and their staff from being registered as lobbyists for a five-year "cooling-off" period after they leave office, the legislation doesn't apply to former Conservative aides and defeated MPs who have become lobbyists in the weeks after Harper's party formed a minority government.

And where, pray tell, are the other 22 measures that Steve promised? Isn't a promise part of accountability or is that just for other parties?

Better selective or half measures than the zero accountability of the Liberals.

Why is it that people who oppose the Government to the extent you do mislabel things? Do you somehow feel witty or smarter than other people with terms like "selective accountability" and "half measures"?

Why do you purposely refer to the Prime Minister in a fashion he has publicly stated he dislikes? In a manner that is clearly derogatory to the highest political leader in the country? Is he not a human being who deserves the basic respect we all deserve?

There is the beautiful irony of the left. It's all about rights and treating people with respect. Unless you dare to oppose their undeniably correct view of the world. Then it's insults and denigration.

So sadly lacking in self-esteem. tsk tsk tsk

Its telling that even after you've been called out (5-6X's??) for using this line, you continue to do so.

Because the "calling out" is wrong. The "calling out" always involves the lefties admitting the Conservatives are better, more ethical, more accountable than the Liberals. But they still can't meet the lefties perceived standard. There simply isn't pleasing those who "call people out" on this one. Better part of the way then nothing.

Same old Conservative do what I say not as I do bs. Tsk tsk, talk about hypocrisy.

Please look at the entirety of post 61 of this thread. I did address the issue. No hypocrisy there.

tsk tsk tsk

That is where you are wrong. The CPC has shown they are no different nor better than the Liberals at all.

But they still can't meet the lefties perceived standard.
Wrong again. This is a standard that was outlined by the Leadership of the CPC during the election campaign. It has nothing to do with "lefties".
There simply isn't pleasing those who "call people out" on this one.
How about some integrity, accountability and transparency from this govt. to start with.
Better part of the way then nothing.

That excuse is almost as lame as the "But the Liberals did it' BS.
