Topaz Posted March 29, 2007 Report Posted March 29, 2007 I read were the lottery is being sued on behalf of lottery players in this province. Now, how could the lottery pay out any settlement to Ontarians when they don't know who buys and who doesn't and which lotteries they play? I heard something about giving away FREE tickets but how many?? Any thoughts how to settle this with the public?? Quote

Bottom line, the OLG should compensate all the lottery winnings claimed by retailers to all buyers/players, provided that they have evidence of purchase. Quote

Why is it someone's fault that you threw away your receipt? Those that kept theirs should be reimbursed. Quote RealRisk.ca - (Latest Post: Prosecutors have no "Skin in the Game") --
August1991 Posted March 31, 2007 Report Posted March 31, 2007 I heard something about giving away FREE tickets but how many?? Any thoughts how to settle this with the public??I think they will offer a two-for-one ticket deal. This means that the Ontario taxpayer will lose (through loss of unrealized profits). The ticket sellers who stole the winnings and the lottery management will likely go unpunished. IMV, anyone foolish enough to buy lottery tickets deserves whatever they get. There are better (and more fun) ways to take risks. Am I the only one to see the irony in a lottery having to give back ill-gotten money to ticket buyers? Quote
leonardcohen Posted April 1, 2007 Report Posted April 1, 2007 I've heard a quote that essentially said that lotteries and casinos are a tax on the stupid and gullible. I think that applies here. Quote Whatever Thy Hand Finds To Do- Do With All Thy Might!
margrace Posted April 1, 2007 Report Posted April 1, 2007 I agree, I aways feel I win the lottery, I still have my money in my pocket. Quote
