I think this is so funny boy the Alliance people sure are afraid of Trudeau.

Not as afraid as Dion, who won't give him a " french safe" riding.

That riding also handed the tories one of its biggest landslides

One reason is that Inky Mark actually acts like an independent when it serves his riding. I doubt he will vote on the Wheat Board issue though. I wonder if Harper will punish him.

Doubt it Harper has bigger fish to fry. Also there would be the possibility that he would jump ship. he has done it before with the Canadian Alliance when he became a PC. For the tories to lose a candidate again might be devestating.

I think it is *so* funny that the new Liberals are forced to attacking a party and it's supporters that hasn't existed for four years now.

*scary* *scary* *scary* brely worked in 2004 and didn't work in 2006.

Try something else.

Wait, better yet stay with the same old, same old. Probably the surest path to a Conservative majority!!!

Dion is a verbose, mild-mannered academic with a shaky grasp of English who seems unfit to chair a university department, much less lead a country.

Mostly because the Alliance people are all in Alberta and we'd sure hate to see another attack on our constitutional jurisdictions.

Trudeau spoke in Calgary on sustainability in the oil industry. He's just like his dad... has no freakin clue about how things work out here. He has the attitude that he needs to bring his Eastern academic (I know he studied at UBC... to be a teacher) salvation to us uncivilized westerners.

But I've got a little news for him. Maybe he should look at some facts on the matter. The Calgary to Edmonton corridor is the richest area in North America, about 160% of the national average in income. Alberta is the only economic bright spot in Canada, with a per capita GDP exceding the OECD growth averages. For the socialist types, our government has more program dollars per capita than the rest of Canada (excluding the North).

So ya, Trudeau, come tell us how you do it Quebec... the place of greatness... in terms of welfare, corporate collapse, Union domination (to the point where factories shut down).

Good riddance to him and the people like him (read: Dion).

The insider said a riding has not been selected but Dion does not want him to run in a safe Liberal riding such as the Outremont riding recent vacated by Jean Lapierre.

The insider said the party wants Trudeau to run in a Montreal-area riding now held by the Bloc Quebecois.

Discussions are underway to find an appropriate riding for Trudeau.

Holy shit - the perfect commie storm of David Suzuki and a Trudeau setting the national agenda is coming true. God help us.

Why is it that you think Alberta will have trouble getting water? I think you know very little about Alberta and that is shown in your responce above. If Canada were to be split at the Manitoba border, it would be the east that would suffer the most in the long term. As far as water goes there would be little left for the east after the USA siphoned the great lakes dry. The better scenario would be for Canada to get along and grow as a country and not let the stupid narrow minded get any leverage in how things are done.

Also as for Trudeau running for a seat, I can say he should be made to run and win a seat thru his own efforts and then he will not be holden to any one, as that is the one of the biggest problems to date with the Liberal party. If he can show he has the power and the intellect to win not only a seat but the hearts and minds of the voters, then he can walk in his fathers footsteps.

Our water comes from rivers. We can't really intentionally drain them faster...

I kind of feel for Saskatchewan I suppose, they might get the short end eventually.

Just remember while your Alberta bashing... oh those crazy hicks, their trucks and their awful restuarant choices... that we enjoy the highest per capita income and GDP in North America (some do suggest that Calgary to Edmonton is as rich as it gets anywhere)... hugely above the rest of Canada which is, unfortunately, quite second class to most of the Western World.
