All told, that's a contingent of 10 politicos (five MPs, five political staffers) attending one conference at a cost of $60,743.19 just for air fare, an average of $6074.32.

And the all reported the same thing, NOTHING was pertinent to Canada. Pardon me? Why do I find that hard to believe? Nothing at a WTO meeting that was pertinent to Canada? Theer are agendas sent out for these types of things, they should've been able to see if there was something there of interest or pertinent before they ALL went. And is everything so perfect in our trade world that we have nothing before the WTO?

I was really disappointed to read the comments supporting the excess spending by Steve's people when they had self-righteous fits while in opposition due to a Liberal Minister having a working dinner or lunch and spending $100.

I know, the hypocrisy of it all. CPC = Liberal

At least the Liberals were slightly in tune with the majority of Canadians on social issues and foreign policy.

Check Travel Web Sites:

*Air Canada (economy) $984.15

*Air Canada (executive) $3973.53

*Continental (economy) $978.98

*British Airways (economy) $2104.84

There were some comments that government officials should not be traveling in economy class. Well what about Air Canada executive for a saving of $21,007.89?

Chump change. It will always be cheaper to take commercial airlines than government aircraft. Are you suggesting here and now that all government jets be sold and all trips at home and abroad be done by commercial airliner?

And that this rule be continued when YOUR party gets into power? No, I'm betting not. I'm also betting this is the first time you ever concerned yourself with piddling little amounts like this with regard to government travel. Chretien used to take the jet on long holidays to the Caribbean, on golfing trips, and to visit friends, and at one point, after his plane was delayed because of mechanical problems, he ordered the air force to send a second plane to back up the first, so that every trip we had two jets flying across the country, one as back-up for the other. Paul Martin ordered millions of dollars spent on refurbishing and upgrading a private airport in Quebec - the one near where his father in law's cabin was. I'm betting none of that concerned you at all.

Ah yes............ the Liberals

Everything comes down the the Liberals for the CPC, each excuse, each justification. ... but the Liberals did it, only worse.

Will this government or this government's apologists ever stand on their own two feet? Will they ever take ownership of a problem without deflecting the blame elsewhere.

Hello, we're the CPC government and, yes, the buck stops here. Hoho, that's one I'd like to see.

Why would the Government do that?

The Liberals followed the same formula of demonizing the opposition and promoting themselves as the only *credible* option for 13 years.

It worked for them, why not for us?

Your suggestion of taking ownership only works to the davantage of the Liberals. Why would the Conservatives help the Liberals?

I don't remember the Liberals bringing up the Conservatives every other sentence and over every little thing. In any government there will always be references to the opposition parties but not excessive and not over everything. The Conservatives seem to think that the comparison puts them in a better light, will remind voters of the "horror" of the former Liberal governments but, to me, all it does is shows the Conservatives can't govern on their own merits. They seem to be afraid of putting forth anything without the constant need to justify their actions by comparisons. You know... putting someone down to make yourself look better. That will only work so far, I think, before people get tired of hearing ...... the Liberals. That Rona Ambrose Liberal putdown at the world environmental meeting is a prime example. I was embarrassed for her and this country. It was domestic, it was petty politics and it should have been below even the Conservative standards.

How could somebody disprove your *convenient* memory?

You won't even consider voting Conservative so why should they care what you think?

The people got tired after hearing the Liberals yell *scary* *scary* *scary* for 13 years. That gives us 12 more years of using *corruption* *corruption* *corruption*...

I'm sure if you would have communicted your potential for embarassment to the Minister's office she would have acted differently.

Still shaking my head over Ricki Bobbi stating and believing apparently that: " why would a government stand on their own 2 feet and govern and take ownership of a problem.

The Liberals followed the same formula of demonizing the opposition and promoting themselves as the only *credible* option for 13 years.

There is a big difference between a government standing on its own 2 feet and "actually" governing, and doing nothing but demonizing the opposition. The Liberals spent a good deal of time actually governing Canada, and doing what apparently the majority of Canadians wanted as they kept having majority governments. The hallmark of the CPC Harper driven "minority" government is: NOT doing what the majority of Canadians want, doing things they do not have a mandate to do, doing exactly what they condemned the Liberals for,and saying they have a right to do it cause the Liberals did, and the final hallmark is their inability to keep "the Liberals did" out of their sentences.

Your suggestion of taking ownership only works to the davantage of the Liberals. Why would the Conservatives help the Liberals?

This is confused at best! Why wouldn't the CPC take ownership of their own actions if at fault?

They didn't bring up the CPC every 2 mins, why would've they?

The CPC can't govern on their own merits hence the 3 card monty show.

Oh, I missed the Rhona Ambrose put down, could you please share it with me?

Though even before knowing what it is, I can say I am not surprised something inappropriate was said. The CPC are so isolated in their relationships/echo chamber, that they really think the rest of the world thinks like they do, and then they say the darnedest things. Proving again to the majority of Canadians and indeed the world how incredibly out of touch they are.

In three elections they won majority governments without ever approaching 50% of the vote on election day.

Care to explain again how the did what the majority of Canadians wanted?

They didn't bring up the CPC every 2 mins, why would've they?

Whatever with the every two minutes. Martin repetaedly brought up the Conservatives as Prime Minister. Chretien didn't because the party hadn't been formed yet. But he did repeatedly refer to the Reform and the Alliance.

You Harper-haters really need to look at the issues here. Your strongest attacks is the Conservatives lay things at the feet of the Liberals. ..... Oh what a sin.

While the Liberals were attacked on HRDC, the Gun Registry, Sposnorship, Shawinigate...

You are angry because the Government has been so clean compared to the Liberals that people see your little invented *scandals* for the farce that they are. Continuing these attacks only plays into Harper's hand in builidng a majority coalition.

Thanks
