betsy Posted December 8, 2006 Report Posted December 8, 2006 A friend who goes on a cruise every year always came back saying how loyal the American public was to Mr. Bush. This year Their attitude had changed, she was really shocked at the animosity against Mr. Bush by his own citizens. Yes, I think we all know that Bush is quite hated by a lot when Iraq got started....and more so unpopular now because of how Iraq had turned out. But most leaders and ministers of other nations had behaved civilly with the US...even if they were at odds with its handling of Iraq. It's only Canada it seems that had acted out like a brat, sticking out its tongue at the US and Bush and had done all sorts of juvenile behaviours....which was quite embarrassing! Oh yeah, Chavez called Bush the devil....but it's more like an election posturing because he was running for office. I guess he got inspired by Martin! Anyway, it must be something to be proud of that at least our previous PM's seems to be of the same class as Chavez! Quote
jbg Posted December 8, 2006 Report Posted December 8, 2006 Carolyn Parrish's stomp dance on a Bush doll on tv! Paul Martin permanently removed her from the Liberal caucus after she did that. Martin's action ended her political career. Wrong!!! That was after Carolyn said she had "no loyalty to Martin". Will the steps anyone is proposing to fight "climate change" reduce a single temperature, by a single degree, at a single location? The mantra of "world opinion" or the views of the "international community" betrays flabby and weak reasoning (link).

"Carolyn Parrish ...is from the suburbs of Toronto and is a member of the ruling Liberal Party, although that party's leader, Prime Minister Paul Martin has publicly joked about how he and Bush want to send her to Mars. Carolyn Parrish appeared on a Canadian political comedy show, This Hour Has 22 Minutes, stomping on a little Bush doll and smiling. She's called Bush 'warlike', said she was 'dumbfounded' that so many Americans had voted for him, and said that "that country is completely out of step with most of the free world." Nothing gets punished in politics like pointing out what is utterly obvious, though. So Martin removed Parrish from the Liberal caucus. The media are full of unflattering pictures of Parrish and accompanying admonishing editorials about her 'anti-American' behaviour." Quote

Apparently your reading skills are not up to understanding the post to which you are replying. Martin did not punish Parrish in any way, shape or form for stomping on a Bush doll and calling him names. He didn't remove her from caucus until after she attacked Martin personally and publicly. Your right, if she had not attacked Martin, she would still likely be a Liberal. Quote Hey Ho - Ontario Liberals Have to Go - Fight Wynne - save our province

That would be difficult to prove in a court of law even if the judge were a Conservative. Clips of the skit involving her stomping on the Bush doll were first shown in the evening on television on November 17, 2004. Her disloyal comments about Martin for condemning her performance in those skits was made on the morning of November 18, 2004. She was expelled on November 18, 2004. Quote
