PolyNewbie Posted November 9, 2006 Report Posted November 9, 2006 It is not the fighting men and women who must accept moral responsibility for their actions. They are there to follow orders of a democratic government who is implementing the policy of the voters. It is you and I that must accept moral responsibilty for their actions. Willful ignorance does not excuse anyone either. I am both ashamed of what is happening and ashamed of the stupidity that would allow this to happen. Lets see if we can fire up some brain cells and generate some intelligent arguement as to why we are fighting in Afganistan and forget about the stupid fake videos of Osama. Quote Support the troops. Cameron Posted November 9, 2006 Report Posted November 9, 2006 Can you clarify on an incident? Or is this just ramblings? Quote Economic Left/Right: 3.25 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -2.26 I want to earn money and keep the majority of it.
Canadian Blue Posted November 9, 2006 Report Posted November 9, 2006 Everybody get on their tin foil hats and start smoking dope. I know why were in Afganistan, and it's related to 9/11. As for why were dying there, it has very little to do with economic's since our country is losing billion's of dollars overseas. The same can be said with every other country in Afganistan right now. fellowtraveller Posted November 9, 2006 Report Posted November 9, 2006 Good question OP. But why don't you ask the same question of the 2 million + Afghan refugees who have returne to their homes since we began the fight in their country. I think they would have some very direct and pertinent answers for you, though it is unlikely you'd hear them. Quote The government should do something.
normanchateau Posted November 9, 2006 Report Posted November 9, 2006 Lets see if we can fire up some brain cells and generate some intelligent arguement as to why we are fighting in Afganistan Afghanistan is an Islamic fundamentalist conservative theocracy. Without us there, they'd be an extreme Islamic fundamentalist conservative theocracy. Quote
Charles Anthony Posted November 9, 2006 Report Posted November 9, 2006 The problem with the Opening Post is that it has more than one issue of debate: 1) "It is not the fighting men and women who must accept moral responsibility for their actions." yadda yadda yadda 2) "arguement as to why we are fighting in Afganistan and forget about the stupid fake videos of Osama." yadda yadda yadda to name a few. I have opinions on them but this thread can only continue to go all over the place and lose focus. Quote We do not have time for a meeting of the flat earth society. << Où sont mes amis ? Canadian Blue Posted November 9, 2006 Report Posted November 9, 2006 Actually soldiers can no longer use the excuse "I was ordered to do it". If you believe you are being ordered to do something which can be considered a war crime you have to refuse the order. If you don't refuse the order then you can be charged for war crimes.
