I listened to CBC Radio happily for years. Vicky Gabero, Peter Zwoski and in more recent times, Sad Goat. But I am now so tired of hearing endless obscure, boring folk singers and ordinary citizens singing to the CBC answering machine, I rarely listen anymore. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

And given the condition of the roads, you think the government does a good job? There isn't a province in Canada where the roads are not falling apart.

Except, I hear, Saskatchewan, where they're the envy of the gardener of a golf green.

The time I drove on the Trans-Canada outside of Regina took a year off the life of my poor Reliant, and that thing's life expectancy was tragically short to start with.

I'm not Canadian, but I've heard the horror stories. I was being facetious.

  • Free speech: "You can say what you want, but I don't have to lend you my megaphone."
  • Always remember that when you are in the right you can afford to keep your temper, and when you are in the wrong you cannot afford to lose it. - J.J. Reynolds.
  • Will the steps anyone is proposing to fight "climate change" reduce a single temperature, by a single degree, at a single location?
  • The mantra of "world opinion" or the views of the "international community" betrays flabby and weak reasoning (link).

Going Waaay Off Topic Here: I just find it interesting that I " know " a screenwriter from two internet communities, both with the same first name. Hopefully I'll get a chance to see something you've done someday as I have seen a number of projects the other has been involved in, jdobbin.

That forum is for the other subject near and dear to my heart, D&D (and related geeky stuff), and I get the feeling from a few references that I am certainly not the only one here who plays that. End forum hijack.

I can always get behind spending money more effectively, but I will never support the abolishment of the CBC. Another case of something that perhaps needs better management, not to cease to exist.

I just finished wathcing Jane Taber launch puffballs to lyin' Jim Flaherty on CTV. I guess that shows the kind of crap you get when financial survival is more important than news coverage for a telelvision network.

Don't watch it. No harm or foul to you.

With the CBC I don't have any choice about my tax dollars subsidizing its operations. Even though I don't watch it, it still costs me money every day.

Dion is a verbose, mild-mannered academic with a shaky grasp of English who seems unfit to chair a university department, much less lead a country.
