Ladyjen Posted October 19, 2006 Report Posted October 19, 2006 http://www.cnn.com/2006/POLITICS/10/19/fol...iest/index.html So now we are all supposed to feel sorry for Foley that he was abused by a Priest and Americans should all go "Oh well then, in light of this, let's all vote for the Republicans". This was the Priest's addmission, Foley obviously doesn't want to engage in the details. Makes one wonder how much they paid the Priest. Quote

Is being abused as a child a defence for abusing others when you become an adult? Quote
Drea Posted October 19, 2006 Report Posted October 19, 2006 The priest who alledgedly abused Foley is more than likely dead of old age. The dead can't refute what people say they did. Quote ...jealous much? Booga Booga! Hee Hee Hee
Ladyjen Posted October 20, 2006 Author Report Posted October 20, 2006 No, being abused as a child IMHO is no excuse to abuse anybody else. If you're not completely insane then you know right from wrong and that's the bottom line. The Priest is alive as he was interviewed yesterday and admits fondling Foley and that's what I find so hard to believe. This AHole is only 69 years of age. Why would he just up and give an interview unabashedly admitting to molesting a child? He feels, he says, that Foley should just let bygones be bygones. And this, just 3 weeks prior to the mid term elections? It's just too bizzarre to be real. This creep was paid off! Quote

Is being abused as a child a defence for abusing others when you become an adult? Yes but not a good one as that being an adult means you still in th end must accept responsibility. That being said, statistically, the abused will abuse. I don't think that this explains foley's predicament, which is basically he just likes young ass. Riverwind Posted October 20, 2006 Report Posted October 20, 2006 It's just too bizzarre to be real. This creep was paid off!I agree - he is admitting to a crime that could put him in jail (not sure about the statute of limitations though). I could see the logic if he was remorsful and begging forgiveness but that does not appear to be the case. I suspect this is an exercise in damage control among evangelical Christians that could stay home on voting day because of disgust over the Foley scandal. These are the only people that are likely to be swayed by the 'victim' angle because they are already extremely misinformed on all issues relating to homosexuality.
