JerrySeinfeld Posted October 2, 2006 Report Posted October 2, 2006 ahhh - the religion of peace is at it again... LAHORE, Pakistan - About 1,000 Muslim clerics and religious scholars meeting Thursday in eastern Pakistan demanded the removal of Pope Benedict XVI for making what they called “insulting remarks” against Islam. Benedict “should be removed from his position immediately for encouraging war and fanning hostility between various faiths” and “making insulting remarks” against Islam, said a joint statement issued by the clerics and scholars at the end of their one-day convention. The “pope, and all infidels, should know that no Muslim, under any circumstances, can tolerate an insult to the Prophet (Muhammad). ... If the West does not change its stance regarding Islam, it will face severe consequences,” it said. Quote
sharkman Posted October 2, 2006 Report Posted October 2, 2006 Well Jerry, freedom of speech is only correct as long as Muslims' hyper-sensitivities are obeyed. That little tidbit of info seems to be ignored by liberals, who get up in arms about freedom of speech only when people like Howard Stern get protested for R rated material. When the Pope gets his life threatened by muslims over a few benign comments, the silence from that side of the fence is astounding. Quote

Nothing gets this kind of reation from Christian groups. Yet, Muslim terrorists are untouchable, you dare not even criticize the riots. How sad. Quote
Higgly Posted October 5, 2006 Report Posted October 5, 2006 Amazing. So they are demonstrating against something. So what. Happens every day all over the world. Another bigotry inspired thread. Quote "We have seen the enemy and he is us!". Pogo (Walt Kelly).
sharkman Posted October 5, 2006 Report Posted October 5, 2006 Amazing. So they are demonstrating against something. So what. Happens every day all over the world. Another bigotry inspired thread. Try rioting. Uttering threats. Attacks and buring buildings. Murder. Your quick sweeping downgrade to a 'demonstration' isn't fooling anyone who can think. All over a few sentenses in a speech they disagree with. They are the bigots. Quote

Do you see the word 'riot'? Do you see the word 'threat'? I haven't downgraded anything. You on the other hand are upgrading. In fact, I'd call it highgrading. Are you the anyone who is supposed to be able to think? Quote "We have seen the enemy and he is us!". Pogo (Walt Kelly).
sharkman Posted October 5, 2006 Report Posted October 5, 2006 So you can't think critically? Muslims demanding the Pope be fired are only the latest in the Pope Speech 'Scandal'. You ignore the riots, etc. because they happend already? If you want to be obtuse, there wasn't any demonstrations either, silly. They had a meeting only. Says so in the first post. Quote
Higgly Posted October 5, 2006 Report Posted October 5, 2006 I am reminded of a line from a Bob Dylan song... "How much do I have to pay to keep from going through all this twice?" Quote "We have seen the enemy and he is us!". Pogo (Walt Kelly).

That would be the one great example of a western country actually giving UN resolutions some teeth. But no, it's a threat by Muslims toward the Pope. Quote

geoffrey Posted October 9, 2006 Report Posted October 9, 2006 The muslims are threatening the Pope be sayi g they will invade Iraq?Johnny come lately Bastards.... They already threatened the Pope by burning likenesses (if someone burned my likeness, I'd be starting another crusade, I admire the Pope's patience and forgiveness), burning Churches (some very historical, where the hell are the liberal academics condemning this destruction of history), and shooting a nun. Very peaceful people, I mean, whew, amazingly peaceful. The invasion of Iraq could be peaceful tomorrow, same with Afghanistan. It all depends on the terrorists (again, Muslims) that can lay down their arms and cede to their democratically elected governments. The people of Iraq and Afghanistan want to get back to their lives, it's not the West preventing that. Tell al-Qaeda and the Taliban to lay down their arms, then there is peace. We lay down our arms, and people will return to suffering and oppression, women won't be able to go to school again in Afghanistan and death squads to oppress political movements will return to Iraq... Who's the problem Dancer/Higgly?? Quote RealRisk.ca - (Latest Post: Prosecutors have no "Skin in the Game") --
