From extracting more tolls from a bridge that Canada built to joint ownership of the St Lawrence Canal that Canada built ; it’s politically justified. Canada was a British ploy to slow American expansion but is wholly dependent on American market access for continued existence. Should America cut off or reduce its market access to Canada, the fairy tale would cease to exist. America sees no reason to subsidize Canada’s existence. This is a critique of the political entity of Canada not of Canadians themselves who are infact ethnically and culturally North AMERICANS.

The age of globalism as you know it is over. America is refocused on the Western Hemisphere now Canada. You're in the hot seat.

Bullying Canada is justified because bullying China is painful.

Exactly. America does not go after strong adversaries, they go after the weak. The Bully is being bullied and they don't like it.

What? Are you suggesting America is giving China an easy time? Or have you been blind to the Chinese economic collapse. American foreign policy emptied out their private and foreign direct investment overnight. Or are you wanting America to do the same to Canada? Be grateful for the market access Canada already has.

And as if it is not lost on you. America gave you the opportunity to be formally recognized as a state that you chose to what was it? Elbows up? So as far as I see it, Canada wanted this treatment. You want sovereignty so pay for it yourselves. Countries don’t have friends, they have interests. Become a state and we wouldn’t be having this conversation!

Rare earths, baby. Look how Trump fawns on Xi these days. It’s pathetic.

‘How small we make our worlds. Gather them in, tighten them up into little castles of fear.’

It doesn't hurt if world leaders have an amicable relationships, despite the country's disposition.

Over played, nothing is rare about the rare earth. China just simply has a market monopoly from a pricing and volume perspective, that's not to say that the US can't produce the mineral themselves historically.
