Canada protects the Quebec dairy market through ‘supply management’ – been in place since 1970s’ Huge benefit to Quebec and one of Trump’s (legitimate) pet gripes. Supply management ensures stable prices and production quotas – by capping imports and only allowing a limited Provincial supply to be produced prices can be artificially adjusted (no competition from outside the Province) To maintain the quota system, it has been estimated that over $10 BILLION worth of raw milk has been dumped between 2012 - 2024. HUGELY unfair. Quote
