The reverse is also true. 

Also stop pretending we all get along. We absolutely do not. Relative to other countries sure but let's acknowledge that the entire Canadian identity is fabricated on being not American. An antiquated view borne from a colonial past but have none the less persisted.

True, in English-Canada, a big deal is not being American.

But in French-Canada, it is best not to be Protestant.

Yet, for centuries, we Canadians got along. We even inter-married - along religious lines.
