2 words in English, i.e.

COLORADO SPRINGS - An Iraqi mayor stood before troops lined up on the lawn at Fort Carson on Friday morning and said only two words in English. But those two words brought the crowd to its feet.

"Thank you."

This mayor ain't talking progressive liberal-speak!

It was a telling gesture from Tal Afar Mayor Najim Al Jibouri, who spoke for about 20 minutes in his native tongue praising the 3rd Armored Cavalry for saving his city from certain ruin...."Are you truly my friends?" he asked through a translator. "Yes. I walk a happier man because you are my friends. You are the world to me. I smell the sweet perfume that emanates from your flower of your strength, honor and greatness in every corner of Tal Afar. The nightmares of terror fled when the lion of your bravery entered our city."

They aren't the "nightmares of terror." They are the resistance, insurgents, militants, or my personal fave - activists.

And the US is not the lions of bravery. They are fascist neocons under the control of the Zionists who are out to steal your oil.

...The mayor said afterward through a translator that he worried about fading support for the war in Iraq and urged Americans to remember what it was like before U.S. forces arrived.

Obviously the lying Mayor hasn't watched Fahrenheit 9-11. Iraq was a kite-flying paradise before US forces arrived. This is unquestionably true because Michael Moore has an unblemished reputation for speaking The Pure Truth™.

"One year ago today, not even a bird used to be inside the city of Tal Afar because of all the shooting that happened continuously," he said. "All of the schools were closed and all the government facilities were closed completely. Killing and murdering was allowed - even of the children."

JIBOURI IS A CIA AGENT!!!!!

The killings were all done by US troops (which us progressives support--honest we do), not The Resistance.

He said mistakes have been made - he did not specify them - but Al Jibouri said he believed troops might need to stay for another two to three years. He said there is still a lot of work to do.

Oh sure. "Mistakes."

Mistakes never ever happen in war. Wars always go super-duper smooth. Read your history, you US puppet.

Thank Go, er, goodness I reside in the reality-based community. B)

I'm reminded of the Monty Python sketch where a Romanian-English translation dictionary was deliberately filled with "errors" to get people in trouble.

Our protagonist is in a shop, reading from the dictionary, saying things like "My hovercraft is full of eels", and "Drop you trousers Mrs Brown" while simply trying to order something from the shopkeep.

Of course he ends up getting taken off by the police.

Perhaps the Mayor was using such a book.

Maybe he thought he was saying "You sister is like a transit bus; anyone can ride for a dollar".

Or maybe "Your mother is like a pack of Wrigley's Gum; eight sticks for a buck".

:lol::lol::lol:

Good to see you back, MONTY.

Thanks PR. Nice to see you back too.

Unfortunately I'm very upset. Conservative Harry Smith, co-host of the Early Show on the rightwing CBS network, the former home of neocon Dan Rather, was up to their old tricks again. Look at what snuck, er I mean, they deliberately aired on this live broadcast from Iraq:

Smith to a group of kids: “Are Americans good or bad?”

Iraqi child: “Good”

Smith: “They are good.”

Iraqi child: “Yes”

Iraqi child #2: “What’s your name?”

Smith: “Huh?”

Iraqi child #2: “What’s your name?”

Smith: “My name? Smith. Harry Smith.”

Iraqi child #2: “Sir, my name is Bush.”

Smith: “Your name is Bush?”

Iraqi child #2: “Yes.”

Smith, pointing at the child and chuckling: “He says his name is Bush.”

I'm sick and tired of the biased corporate-controlled rightwing MSM.

The Iraqis hate Americans. All us progressives know this because we live in the reality-based community. B)

Talk to you later. I've gotta go fire up the bong and tighten my tinfoil hat (it is loosening and I worry about getting zapped by KKKarl Rove's Mind Control Ray Gun)

Wow, some of the Iraqis are naming their kids Bush? I'm surprised it made the CBS radar. Of course if it was the name Clinton, they'd use it as a puff piece in a run up to Billary's campaign.

Remember during the Iraqi election last year when Baghdad Mayor Ali Fadel said he'd like to erect a statue of Bush?

"He is the symbol of freedom."

I hope this doesn't happen because even I do not want to see liberal heads exploding, as they were when the progressives at the Democratic Underground Message Board heard about this. My favorite response at DUMB was #48:

"TALK ABOUT A MAJOR ASS KISSER. EXCUSE ME EVERYONE WHY I GO OUT AND PUKE"

What a load of tripe.

It seems like sarcasm is all rightwingers have left.

Even in the face of the atrocity being revealed, joking and sarcasm.

They don't seem to be operating on all cylinders gerry. Unfortunately, thousands have died for this bogus war. How bloody sad. They need to wake up and smell the white phosphorus.

What Harry Smith would've said if he was honest:

"This illustrates that the MSM has a lot more work to do in undermining the war and that, clearly, the Iraqis have a long way to go in accepting our BS."

Iraqi child: "Yes sir, we are not yet as stupid as the average leftwinger."

Smith: " You blankety-blank fascist neocon brat!"

Even though I disagree with Monty the vast majority of the time, he is usually able to back up his sarcasm with cold hard facts.

This thread, is a good example of that.
