Pierre Berton was wrong about the railway, railroad, the so-called National Dream.

1. The significant difference between Canada and the US is our monetary history.

2. In Fall 2008, I was astonished when Bernanke stood beside Bush Jnr.

In Canada, like Keynes, we have always kept money separate from government.

The Americans do weird things: they made their Fed chair a Treasury Secretary.

Taft was a US president - then sat on the federal US Supreme Court.

Imagine Macdonald, Trudeau (either) or Charles III on our federal Supreme Court.

Even the term itself: "Supreme Court". This is not British. We copied it from the American constitution.

-the fundamental difference between Canada and the US is money, our monetary history is amazingly different

Iran uses the term "Supreme" Leader - as translated to English.

Imagine some smart guys in the 18th century looking for a term for "above all":

"Higher, President, Sovereign, Ultimate, Senior, Supreme, Superior...   "

Carney as Liberal PM? This is a huge mistake for English-Canada.
