Like Caligula who ordered his soldiers to attack the ocean by throwing spears into the water and collecting seashells as trophies. At least he had the excuse of being an inbred psychotic monster. Oh, wait... 2 1 Quote

impartialobserver Posted March 10 Report Posted March 10 Yeah.. this is dumb. The geography of that area simply does not allow for that water to reach SoCal. Quote

See, it's far more complex than just the incompetence of one diaper doper. It takes many incompetent diaper dopers to put together as big of a f*ckup as the California fire response. Through gross neglect and shitty planning - due to the idiocy that is climate change - Newsom AND COMPANY helped burn the Pacific Palisades to the ground. If only those degenerates weren't such f*ckups... But maybe it's bigger than that - more sinister... I've been hearing that the fires were intentional; it certainly helps explain the mayor's suspicious absence. Only a complete pervert degenerate would answer the call of an even bigger pervert degenerate to fly to Ghana during fire season. Edited March 10 by Deluge Quote

Only a complete pervert degenerate would answer the call of an even bigger pervert degenerate to fly to Ghana during fire season. There was no practical way to get this water (mentioned in the article) to Pacific Palisades. What is going to have to be done is an upgrade of the entire water infrastructure. This is going to be very costly and residents will be none too happy. The emergency water system currently only has the capacity for 3 million gallons. They needed 12 million gallons on that day. The reservoirs north and east of LA had in excess of 60 million gallons. So in short, a bit of a bottleneck. As to Newsom having the fires set intentionally and planning it... I do not buy it. Fires happen and never are they politically convenient. It just happens that LA is a rather dry place and folks like their greenery. Even if that greenery is highly flammable and there is too much of it. Edited March 10 by impartialobserver Quote

impartialobserver Posted March 10 Report Posted March 10 Just now, Deluge said: This is a really stupid response. Are you trying to say that building that reservoir in the first place was a dumbass thing to do and a complete waste of time and money? Well.. first why was Lake Kaweah constructed? Was it for backup water in case LA was having fires? Answer... it was for flood control and agriculture. There was no infrastructure in place for getting this water to LA. Do you know where LA gets a lot of its water? Pull up google maps and follow US 395 south of Bishop, CA.. that is where the infrastructure for water is. It is called the Owens Valley Project. Quote

They should've already had that shit figured out, don't you think? It's the middle of fire season, the reservoir is empty, and where the f*ck is their mayor? On some dumbass goodwill woke tour that has nothing to do with her role as mayor. It's very simple math: empty reservoir + fire season equals extremely high risk for Pacific Palisades. This is the result of gross incompetence and climate scare. Edited March 10 by Deluge Quote

Folks tend to put off massive expenditures. A complete upgrade of the entire water system is highly expensive. The reservoirs that LA has for emergency use were not empty. These are San Gabriel, Lake Arrowhead, Morris Reservoir, and Cogswell. Now again.. these are the ones that LA county has full access to in case of emergency. However, those are of secondary importance. Had the water system had increased capacity (12 million gallons(.. this story probably dies off soon. Quote

impartialobserver Posted March 10 Report Posted March 10 LA is not unique though. Most place out West are not truly prepared. They have just been lucky. Reno, Boise, Spokane, Salt Lake city... lots of dead grass, brush, and so on. If they were to catch fire.. they would not be in a great position. Republican governors in 3 of the 4 states... not doing anything about this. Quote

impartialobserver Posted March 11 Report Posted March 11 Lake Kaweah predates Newsom and Trump's time in office. It was built in 1962 for flood control and agriculture. To get the water from Lake Kaweah to LA would demand that they build an aqueduct. That takes more than a few seconds.. by the way. So releasing the water from this lake and thinking that it would affect Pacific Palisades shows a profound lack of knowledge of the geography. All this does is ensure that there will be less water available for agriculture in July and August. 2 Quote
