WestCanMan Posted January 27 Report Posted January 27 This is a rare article about covid from the CBC in 2022. https://www.cbc.ca/news/health/covid-deaths-canada-winter-2022-1.6637476 The article attempts to make the case that, since the jab rollout, covid deaths became mainly among the very elderly. "It's a completely different patient population than the earlier waves," said Dr. Bram Rochwerg, a critical care physician with Hamilton Health Sciences in Hamilton, Ont. He recounted the horror stories of COVID's early days: Young, healthy adults becoming incredibly sick and winding up in intensive care on mechanical ventilation, or even extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), the highest form of life support. "We're not seeing those young, previously healthy, super-sick folks that we saw at the peak of Delta," he said. Vaccinated individuals — meaning those who completed their primary COVID-19 vaccine series and had at least one booster dose — were three times less likely to be hospitalized, and five times less likely to die from their illness, compared to unvaccinated Canadians, according to data from late August to late September 2022 [<-- HTTP Error 404.0 - Not Found]. The vast majority of 2022 deaths, at more than 80 per cent, were among those 65 and older, and three-quarters had three — or more — comorbidities. So, regarding the above theory that "most covid deaths occurring among people over 65" was a new thing that started after the jab rollout, here's the total number of Canadians who died of covid before 2022 in Canada: Deaths 65 and older = 1/2 of the 60-69, + 70+... 18,288 + 6,203 + 1,550 (half of 3,101) = 26,041 deaths 65 and over 1,550 (half of 3,101) + 1,292 + 472 + 217 + 86 + 8 + 11 = 3,636 deaths 64 and under That makes 29,677 total deaths before 2022, with 26,041 coming from 65+... That's 87.7% of covid deaths in that senior citizen age range BEFORE 2022. That's what it was all the way back at the beginning of 2020, and a lot of us knew that. So this CBC sub-heading from that page: 'Completely different patient population' ... is an ABSOLUTE LIE. CBC got a few things right in that article, to their credit: Their quote: "But while weekly deaths dropped into the double digits at several points in 2020 and 2021, the tally hasn't dipped below 137 throughout all of 2022." Their chart: That chart does accurately reflect the fact that for almost every single week of 2022, they were setting records for the number of covid deaths. Again: for almost every single week of 2022, they were setting records for the number of covid deaths. The year that "the pandemic was over" 🤣 That's just a reminder that CBC is total lies and garbage.
