What a weird web site. First: if it's Government, why is it a ".com" instead of the government's ".gc.ca"? An dif it's not an official government site, why is it mimicking the GoC format? Something smells about this.

That doersn't really answer my question as to why an official government site isn't using the official government of Canada domain. Of course the bigger question is why Canadian tax dollars are funding an propaganda web site.

The Canadian Embassey is also putting up big posters all over D.C. (airports, rail stations etc.) now too, making the american pol's in Wash D.C. know that Canada is helping in the "war on terror".

Dunno, maybe because they are far away? They are using the usual GOC format for the site.

Aren't all sites propaganda, inclduing GOC sites, promoting something or other? Every government department has a large communications staff for that very purpose, which I'm sure you knew.

BD has a valid point. I can't find any other government websites that don't use .gc.ca. Why is this different? Why are we funding a 'love us' operation in the US?

I'll protest this from a conservative perspective, seems like a big waste of my money when they don't care anyways.

I just thought it was very informative, I don't see anything wrong with it , it gives a better informed picture of Canada then the media does.
