Grey Cup 2024: Winnipeg vs Toronto

The Blue Bombers look to get revenge for their 2022 loss against Toronto. Winnipeg started off with a pathetic 2-6, before turning things around and going 10-1, to finish 11-7, good for 1st place in the west. Tje Bombers continued their winning ways, destroying the Saskatchewan Roughriders 38-22 in the West Final.

 

Toronto upset the first place Montreal Alouettes in the East Final. Toronto is a good team, but they lost their starting QB, Chad Allan, who is considered the best QB in the league. Winnipeg has the advantage, and will be ready next Sunday in Vancouver!

I honestly thought the Bombers would take it with Argos playing with their backup QB but the Toronto D did their job and the Argos ran away with it in the second half. Congratulations to Toronto. Tough break for Collaros as they lose their 3rd straight GC

Only reason that I care about this is that Toronto has a former Boise state player as the head coach.

This was definitely the hardest pill to swallow, in my entire life as a Bombers fan. The back-to-back losses against Toronto and Montreal at the very least were very close, against teams that would finish with the best record in the CFL the following year.

This year, we were going against a team with an inferior record, and a team that had lost arguably the best QB in the CFL the prior week. Our special teams was our Achilles heel all year, and that fumble on the punt return, combined with that penalty negated the blacked punt, sank us.

Kudos to backup QB Arbuckle, who definitely played the game of his life. As a born and raised Winnipegger, this is going to sting for years.
