This website is such a farce.

Pathetic Propaganda Website

I received this on my email and it makes you want to pull your hair out, at the raw stupidity of the people who are willing to support it.

I even signed this petition and posted my comment(which would not be popular with the petitioners) and was promptly deleted by the website admin.

I believe in a universal childcare plan as an extention to the $100/month plan that the Conservatives brought forward in their platform, yet reading this petition, they would make you believe that Stephen Harper would be running small children over with a Hummer! LOL

Many of the people signing it have no idea what they are signing or what childcare plan they are defending, they just sign blindly.

This is the kind of thing that spawns from a left winger!

When will people open their eyes?

No child care program! ARGG!!

I love the misleading headlines they give to other's stories... such as:

"Canada’s top business executives not keen to cancel child care agreements"

Sounds pretty convincing, business people want child care programs.

Then you get into the article.

First Paragraph:

March 23, 2006 – A survey of 150 Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) across Canada reveals that only 9 per cent believe that ending the child care agreements should be a priority for the new Conservative government.

Only 9 percent want it cancelled right! WOW! Those CEOs are hardcore socialists right! Goooo child care. Then you move on to the second paragraph:

In a survey conducted between Feb. 16 and March 9, more than 20 per cent of top executives said the government should not cancel the federal-provincial child care agreements signed last year. A further 37 per cent said the cancellation should be a low priority.

So only 20% want to keep it now? What the hell happened? I thought only 9% hated the idea, not 80%.

Oh... thats right, misleading lies.

I have no respect for organizations that take advantage of Canadians and talk down to them with such obvious progranda. What a waste of a website.

To fly a plane, you need both a left wing and a right wing.

Agreed. All of these groups generally appeal to under-educated folks that can be swayed for partisan purposes. Most people that care about issues and form their own opinions about them find these type of groups equally ridiculous on both sides of the fence.

But you gotta admit the left-winger propaganda is sooooo sickeningly tacky.

All I know is that I do not want more government involvement into the lives of Canadians. Universal childcare has the potential to create another huge bureaucracy which will cost the taxpayers of this country even moer of what little disposable income they have left after government syphions it for many of their other hair-brained schemes.

If we listen to Jack Layton he has this mindset that the government should be in control of every aspect of Canadian's lives from birth to death. I say enough is enough! If couples want to bring children into this world as my wife and I did, then damnit pay for your own daycare, or better yet make a choice of either having children or a career. No wonder many of our children today have no values or morals, they are being brought up by strangers at the daycare centre. Mom and Dad see the children in the morning up until they drop them off at the daycare centre and don't have to bothered with them again until they pick them up after work, then they break their necks getting the child home, fed, bathed and put to bed for the night. The short time they spend with thier children is like spending time with a stranger.

Come on people, bring up yoour own children or at least don't expect the taxpayer's of this country to pay for your selfish choices by subsidizing daycare spaces. You can do without that second SUV, that expensive home in the suburbs, or that yearly vacation in the tropics while someone else minds yur children.

When my wife gave birth to our daughter she, a nurse, withdrew from the workforce in order to bring her up. If the taxpayer is going to be tapped to finance childcare there must be something available for those who choose to sacrifice an outside job to bring up the child.

My druthers though would be to eliminate all taxpayer funding of daycare.

I agree for the most part, except I do believe there should be some temporary assistance for people who are really trying e.g. a single mother trying to get a job. It should be based on income. I sure don't agree with taxpayer funding for ALL people.

Won't get any objection from me there.
