stignasty Posted March 5, 2006 Report Posted March 5, 2006 Layton calls on Harper to uphold medicare Globe and Mail Update Federal NDP Leader Jack Layton is challenging Prime Minister Stephen Harper to uphold Canadian medicare — and to stop Ralph Klein's proposals of privatization in their tracks. Link Quote "It may not be true, but it's legendary that if you're like all Americans, you know almost nothing except for your own country. Which makes you probably knowledgeable about one more country than most Canadians." - Stephen Harper
geoffrey Posted March 6, 2006 Report Posted March 6, 2006 And I call on Jack Layton to respect provincial jurisdiction, even if I happen to not be 100% behind Klein on this one. Quote RealRisk.ca - (Latest Post: Prosecutors have no "Skin in the Game") --
Josh Posted March 6, 2006 Report Posted March 6, 2006 Well, if I were a Harper advisor, I would make sure the PM challenged Klein on this... A chance to defend the "All-Canadian Medicare System" and show that he's in charge. Go for it Harper! Quote
Spike22 Posted March 6, 2006 Report Posted March 6, 2006 I think Medicare should be killed off. It is costing too much and is in poor shape. Harper should get rid of it and privitize all of it. We do not need it in our family and can easily afford it. People should be free to choose when and where they want to go for treatment. Those that can't simply will have to survive on Nyquil and other over the counter medication. Quote
sharkman Posted March 6, 2006 Report Posted March 6, 2006 I hereby call on Layton to stop being a hypocrite and using private care while pretending to champion our healthcare system. Quote
