He was leader of the NDP so he would have had to care deeply about his party's beliefs, but he was also a Baptist minister and most Christians were and are against same-sex marriage. Quote

I agree it was a different time and era and he wasn't much different than many at that time, but he isn't the saint some people would have us believe.
