Spike22 Posted February 14, 2006 Report Posted February 14, 2006 By the way what is wrong with Family Circle it's loved by millions. Quote
na85 Posted February 14, 2006 Report Posted February 14, 2006 It's not funny, every joke is either about the dead grandparents looking down from heaven or the stupid dotted lines all the way around and through the yard. I suppose the author thinks it's cute, but it's just tedious. --- Regarding being politically correct, I both agree and disagree with spike. There is an alarming trend today of the notion that a person has a right not to be offended. What ever happened to freedom of speech? "Let me see you acknowledge a man who is advocating at the top of his lungs that which you would spend a lifetime opposing at the top of yours" It's like the whole Muhammed cartoon garbage. They're offended because of a satirical cartoon? That's fine, they can be offended, but no one can tell the editors to stop printing because someone is offended. Boo hoo, cry me a river. That is what is wrong we try to hard not to hurt anyones feelings in this country and remain wishy washy middle of the road, pablum puking, tree hugging, gay loving, granola crunching mamby pamby momma's boys. However, being opposed to political correctness does not mean that I am also opposed to "tree hugging" or "gay loving". First of all, the environment is a precious and fragile resource, so quite frankly everyone should be tree hugging. Without trees we'd be dead. Period. Finally, let's not start another gay argument in this thread. I am in favor of same-sex marriage because it is the right thing to do. Go refute it in the SSM thread. Quote

The left has taken political correctness to an unbelievable level. Black Dog Posted February 14, 2006 Report Posted February 14, 2006 Speaking of comedy it's pretty funny to see people tilt at the windmill of "political correctness", even though that particular target has been worked over pretty good since about, oh, 1994. Ooh, y'all so transgressive! Quote
