willy Posted January 7, 2006 Report Posted January 7, 2006 The RCMP has been asked to probe a Liberal consultant over a $380,000 contract she was awarded to lobby Ottawa for funds for the ailing firearms registry. The five-month contract was awarded by the justice department to Kim Doran in March 2003 to lobby the federal solicitor general, Treasury Board and Privy Council, according to a detailed lobbyist report. Toronto SunAbove, The Liberals paid a Liberal lobiest to loby the Liberal government on the gun registry. Income Trust Option Canada What else? I know these are investigations or aligations but it still seems like a lot in the light of Gomery. Quote

Idon't know if this is a start of another one, but last night it was briefly mentioned in passing at the Mike Duffy Count Down by Mike Duffy ....about lobbyists being paid by the justice department to lobby for an agenda. It came out while they were discussing a different topic, so they did not dwell on it. Anyone know more about this? Quote
fellowtraveller Posted January 7, 2006 Report Posted January 7, 2006 Have we forgotten so quickly about Adscam? Lots and lots of money still missing from that one. No politicians going to jail - astonishing really when you consider that we know that politicians both handed it out and received it. What about the random $2 billion unaccounted for at Industry Canada? You can be sure that Indian and Northern Affairs, with about $7 billion per year , all unaudited by the Auditor General is a stroy crying to be told. Quote The government should do something.

justcrowing Posted January 7, 2006 Report Posted January 7, 2006 Is it any wonder we lose track of all the scandals - new ones keep popping up daily and I expect it to continue. Of course they felt confident to milk the taxpayers who closed their eyes and kept re-electing them which said it was okay to screw us. Unfortunately, those of us who did not support the Liberals got screwed too - time for change. Quote
