CdnFox Posted September 25, 2023 Report Posted September 25, 2023 For the good of his party, Justin Trudeau should step down. Everyone knows this. I'm pretty sure Justin knows this. The only way you can justify staying is if you honestly believe that something radical will change I'll give you a shot at winning. The economy isn't going to change, it will get worse. Housing isn't going to change. His brand isn't going to get any better. So what is he waiting on? My theory is that Justin Trudeau is hoping that trump wins the 2024 election. Canadians get so mad over American politics that it is believable that if Trump gets in trudeau will be able to turn that into anti conservative sentiment here in Canada.“ oh look - that evil trump got in in the states. You better vote for me or the entire northern hemisphere of the continent is going to be Republican and then they'll burn gays and abortion doctors for fuel". I think justin is rooting like hell for a trump victory- and then he'll go to the polls early in 2025 and run on the spring budget which will have all kind of goodies Quote There are two types of people in this world: Those who can extrapolate from incomplete data
Nefarious Banana Posted September 25, 2023 Report Posted September 25, 2023 If Justin did walk into a snowbank like his stepfather, who do you think the Liberals would choose for their 'new' leader? Quote

At this point i think they'd be happy if "Anyone" ran and won it Their choices would be very limited. Just because there aren't a lot of great choices but because anyone who is a decent choice is not going to want to run right now. The Liberals are brutally low in the polls, they can't run on their record, there's next to no time before the next election to get ready, and they would have to be prime minister in the mean time which means they would have limited time to plan and would be scrutinized for every decision they made. No sane person would want the job. Any decent leadership candidates are going to wait until after the next election when they will presumably have time to get ready and it will not be them in the spotlight. The last thing they would want is to pull a Kim Campbell 1 Quote There are two types of people in this world: Those who can extrapolate from incomplete data
