CdnFox
Some really interesting stuff from the latest Abacus: https://abacusdata.ca/genz-top-issues-facing-canada/ The CPC is still in majority territory - The Conservatives lead in every age group: But what's REALLY interesting is the priorities for the younger kids: When asked what the TOP THREE issues are - here's how they stacked up Climate change has taken a major hit - dropping very far down the list as one of people's big concerns. Meanwhile for gen z and the millennials costs of living and housing absolutely dominate. This probably explains why the NDP and even more so the libs are losing ground to the CPC. Climate change is not going to be the 'hot topic' next election from the looks of things. I think the failure of the Carbon tax has really soured people on the issue and now they're going to make it a backseat issue at best. I think that the CPC will only need to propose something modestly reasonable to win people over on that issue and if they can sell the idea that they'll fix the housing and affordability issues then peopel won't give a crap about the environment. And that's what was predicted back in the day when those on the left screamed for a carbon tax - conservatives (including me) loudly said "If you do this - it will fail and then nobody will want to deal with the issue again".
