Will fusion technology save us from catastrophic warming?

Recommended Posts

I'm reading this piece on the latest progress in fusion technology and it's unbelievable how we can be so naive. OK we will not have much of greenhouse emissions, but with unlimited energy imagine where our consumption would go? The technology will develop, the price would drop and we will be using 10, 100 or more time the current level. Anyone sees the problem? Where would it be dissipated, in which environment? Hundreds hand-made suns burning on Earth where it will send our climate and the temperatures?

One perspective is becoming painfully clear: we cannot think in advance and forward. Probably, very likely, as species. Make nukes then figure it out. Sure a few decades on we have a maniac psycho with nukes. And now, let's make some suns!
