RonnieWood Posted May 4, 2005 Report Posted May 4, 2005 Globe and Mail article: http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/sto...Story/National/ I'm very happy to see that our PM will be involved in at least some VE-Day celebrations this year. How would Europe and the rest of the world have looked at Canada if they stayed at home bickering with each other instead of paying our respects and remembering the soldiers who fought for our freedom? Isn't it too bad that the leaders of our country can't work together? LOL Like that will ever happen! ------------------------------------------------- We Will Never Forget ------------------------------------------------- Quote
August1991 Posted May 4, 2005 Report Posted May 4, 2005 From article above: The on-again-off-again-on-again trip had officials in the Prime Minister's Office scrambling last night. They were unable to say for sure what events the politicians might be able to attend before Monday's dinner.Mr. Dithers indeed. (BTW, I hope everyone understands the hundreds if not thousands of people who are involved and then not involved and then involved again when the PM travels abroad. I think PM PM should have donated the money to charity in lieu of flowers.)The nastiness continued outside the chamber with Immigration Minister Joe Volpe angrily pointing to a newspaper photograph of Conservative MPs Lee Richardson and Werner Schmidt displaying a mock poster advertising "The Librano$.".... The next swift volley came from Conservative MP Rahim Jaffer, who called Mr. Volpe's reference to the Conservative Klan "reprehensible." These guys should stop reading Internet forum debates. Quote
RonnieWood Posted May 4, 2005 Author Report Posted May 4, 2005 These guys should stop reading Internet forum debates. LOL So very true I hate all the 'he said' she said' part of politics.......like MacKay accusing the Libs of trying to make deals with Conservative MP's.......and the Libs profusely denying anything of the sort Grow up, your adults and you should be DOING YOUR JOB!!!! Politics these days is nothing but personal attacks and pointless fighting. Ed Broadbent is a smart man! “...Question Period, I think it's become – instead of being functional to Canadian democracy – it's become dysfunctional” Quote
scribblet Posted May 5, 2005 Report Posted May 5, 2005 Has anyone heard on the news that they may not be going now (as of Thursday eve.) Quote Hey Ho - Ontario Liberals Have to Go - Fight Wynne - save our province
SirSpanky Posted May 6, 2005 Report Posted May 6, 2005 The 11:00 news last night (thurs) made no mention of it. In fact they replayed the broadcast from the 6:00 news, so I assume its on still. Quote
