I am trying to remember now as sometimes it is hard to keep up.

Was it 2 years ago that Campbell got busted for a DUI offence?

Was it last year that the RCMP raided the BC Legislature which could implicate both federal and provincial Liberals?

Yesterday the No 2 person in the BC Campbell Liberals government, Finance Minister Gary Collins quit following the recent resignation of previous No 2 person, former Deputy Premier Christy Clark.

Today there are rumours out that a new BC opinion poll is about to be released showing that the Carole James' New Democrats are now in the lead.

And there are more rumours floating around that additional charges are going to be laid next week, in connection to the police raids on the BC legislature, which involved Basi getting dumped.

What kind of a mess do we have going here in BC?

Are these police raids and the aftermath of what is yet to come, the real reasons that both Clark and Collins have bolted from the Liberal party?

And what are the implications for the federal Liberals as well, as Basi was a key Paul Martin organizer?

Shades of the Devine Conservatives anyone?

This should be in provincial but hmmmmm things are getting interesting. Two top ministers both somewhat connected to the ministerial aides caught up in the raid on the legislature. Relative and a boss???? Hmmm

Wonder if there is a connection with the sudden resignation of two of Campbell's closest top ranking ministers. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

These are quite serious charges made by the police. The BC Liberals must be freaking out with the prospects of this trial going ahead right in the middle of the lead-up to the May, 2005 election.

Charges laid nearly a year after police raid on B.C. legislature

VICTORIA (CP) - Two former B.C. government aides were charged Tuesday with accepting a bribe, fraud and breach of trust, nearly a year after a police raid on the B.C. legislature.

The charges were laid against David Basi, a former aide to former house leader and finance minister Gary Collins, and Bob Virk, who worked for former transportation minister Judith Reid. Basi and Virk are charged with accepting a bribe as a government official, accepting a bribe from a person dealing with government, offering to influence a government official, breach of trust and two counts of fraud over $5,000.

Aneal Basi is charged with accepting a bribe as a government official and breach of trust by a public official.

Bribery and fraud charges laid against former political aides

There is no question that December seems to bring out the worst possible news for the BC Liberals. It appears however this time the bad news for these folks is going to hang in there right up until and including May, 2005.

My preference would be to have a bunch of dumb but honest left-wingers in power, rather than a bunch of smart crooked right-wingers. What about you?
