Michael Hardner Posted December 16, 2016 Report Posted December 16, 2016 Quote Doesn't sound like collaborative work to me. In the context of Scrum vs Waterfall, WCR made the comment. the truth is that lots of work doesn't have to be collaborative. I just got my Scrum certification and prior to that I didn't think Agile made sense. Truth be told there are lots of projects that can use one, the other, or both. I am in an Agile shop that is not agile, but I am thinking of leaving my contract early to work in a hybrid environment. Quote Click to learn why Climate Change is caused by HUMANS Michael Hardner
Michael Hardner Posted December 16, 2016 Author Report Posted December 16, 2016 To be honest, when I look back at the projects I worked on in the 80s and 90s it was amazing we got anything done. Quote Click to learn why Climate Change is caused by HUMANS Michael Hardner

I as well worked in the waterfall methodology and we had very good results. However, we had excellent PM, developers etc. I have only worked in the agile world for a couple of years and it is a huge adjustment. I do believe a hybrid world should exist depending on the project. Our shop is strictly agile however the cto did suggest we can use whatever works best. All our staff are now trained in agile so reverting to waterfall seems far fetched. I do think that agile methodology does miss out on creative meetings etc Quote I love to see a young girl go out and grab the world by the lapels. Life's a bitch. Michael Hardner Posted December 16, 2016 Author Report Posted December 16, 2016 Waterfall does make sense for things that you know how to estimate... I think all agile is not really needed but I haven't done enough agile yet to say for sure. Also I worked in professional services for almost all of my 15 year career in PM and they will not pay for work that doesn't have guaranteed deliverables.
