Michael Hardner Posted November 25, 2016 Report Posted November 25, 2016 Quote The Leftovers takes place three years after a global event called the "Sudden Departure", the inexplicable, simultaneous disappearance of 140 million people, 2% of the world's population, on October 14, 2011.[8] Following that event, mainstream religions declined, and a number of cults emerged, most notably the Guilty Remnant.[9] If the premise sounds weird, trust me the show is weirder. A bleak, supernatural, dramatic story with surreal sideroads all through it. You don't know what's real and what isn't sometimes and sometimes it seems like the creators are trying to intentionally aggravate the viewer. That said, we just finished Season 2 and are hooked. Season 3 is the final season, and it comes next year. If you can stand it, give it a watch. If you rate a show out of 10 for its surreal/weird story, and out of 10 for its difficulty in watching, you get Hardner's surreal/weird/difficulty rating - custom designed for this show. I would give The Soprano's 5/10 on both qualities, for a SWD rating of 25. This show gets 9/10 for both for an SWD of 81. How many amazing shows does HBO make anyway ? overthere Posted November 26, 2016 Report Posted November 26, 2016 I tried for a few episodes in Season One and could not get past that. I'm not sure how you'd find Sopranos weird or hard to watch: I found it compelling and all too real! HBO is generally in another dimension with programming- they do have some duds but they also have some of the very, very best TV ever made. Quote Science too hard for you? Try religion!
Michael Hardner Posted November 26, 2016 Author Report Posted November 26, 2016 Sopranos. Weird episodes: Tony hallucinating the neighbour lady, the extended dream as Kevin Finity, surreal hallucinations about Big P***y Hard to watch: Lots of tough watching, seeing violence that is pointless, seeing loved characters die Quote Click to learn why Climate Change is caused by HUMANS Michael Hardner
overthere Posted November 26, 2016 Report Posted November 26, 2016 Well, Tony did have some health problems! Including mental health. Quote Science too hard for you? Try religion!
