Ash74 Posted March 15, 2016 Report Posted March 15, 2016 http://www.torontosun.com/2016/03/15/free-tuition-isnt-exactly-free-wynne-notes Does it surprise any that we are once again disappointed by the Ontario Government? When Wynne's government was saying free education it was just another "stretch goal" We are asked to but are trust into her ability to run a new pension plan or a cap and trade plan. Topaz Posted March 16, 2016 Report Posted March 16, 2016 So students who can live at home will benefit and I don't think anyone thought living expenses would be cover, at least I didn't. This reminds me of the fed. Tories brought in to workers, 15% discount to take public transit to work BUT people who HAD to drive to work got nothing but high gas bills. I wish government would quit dividing up certain groups of people. Quote
Big Guy Posted March 16, 2016 Report Posted March 16, 2016 There great differences in the access to University by students in large cities and those in rural areas. We live in a small town in Southern Ontario. Not only is the average income much lower here than in the bigger cities but students wanting to attend University have to live away from home because of our distance from the nearest University. There are many intelligent and enthusiastic young people here who just cannot afford to attend University and are forced into menial careers where their potential is never challenged. Topaz Posted March 16, 2016 Report Posted March 16, 2016 Perhaps for some students or even all student to get the best education Canada can offer is to have a lottery setup in each provinces and territories and sell tickets like Max or 649 lotteries and all money goes towards education purposes. DFCaper Posted March 17, 2016 Report Posted March 17, 2016 There great differences in the access to University by students in large cities and those in rural areas. Being from a small town, I imagine you recognize that the current government in Ontario's policies focus almost solely on large urban areas. Having grown up rural, the added expense of going away for University was higher than tuition... But people in TO have local options, so who cares. Cl Le Posted March 20, 2016 Report Posted March 20, 2016 Ontario pays over 1 billion a month to just interest on their massive 320 billion dollar debt and it will rise by 6.7 % according to government figures . Nice legacy for the voters of Ontario to leave their children . Liberals have broken moral compasses and should be shown the exit next provincial and federal election . Quote
