maplesyrup Posted November 16, 2004 Report Posted November 16, 2004 Ontario demands tougher protection for Great Lakes Won't sign Great Lakes water deal, Ontario says So the US wants to divert the water in the Great Lakes to satisfy their thirst for fresh water, and Quebec wants to give the US veto over the deal but no veto to Canada. Are they brain-dead in Quebec? Quote An education isn't how much you have committed to memory, or even how much you know. It's being able to differentiate between what you do know and what you don't. maplesyrup Posted November 16, 2004 Author Report Posted November 16, 2004 Thank goodness we had a change of government in Ontario, otherwise this agreement would have already been signed by now. Mankind still thinks it can fool around with Mother Nature and not have any consequences to pay for. How strange. Are they brain-dead in Quebec? Maybe Quebec's long term plans do not include Canada.... thus signing away Canada's veto is not an issue with them... Quote

stamps Posted November 16, 2004 Report Posted November 16, 2004 We hold alot of clout in the water and energy area of things I just wish our politians would come up with a national plan that would be to the benifit of Canada... Quote
caesar Posted November 17, 2004 Report Posted November 17, 2004 and Quebec wants to give the US veto over the deal but no veto to Canada. Where did you get this information? Article says nothing about Quebec wanting to give USA veto but not Canada. It does say 8 states are consulted but that in Canada they only need to ask approval of "either" Quebec or Ontario. Shouldn't this be an agreement between our two federal governments????? Quote
maplesyrup Posted November 25, 2004 Author Report Posted November 25, 2004 This is probably what is really behind another US scam; this time to steal Canada's water: Blue Gold Quote An education isn't how much you have committed to memory, or even how much you know. Big Blue Machine Posted November 29, 2004 Report Posted November 29, 2004 They aren't stealing our water, they are just pumping all the water out of the great lakes. There's a difference. I don't think it's right that the Americans are pumping all the water out of the lakes, but what can you do? Quote And as I take man's last step from the surface, for now but we believe not too far into the future. I just like to say what I believe history will record that America's challenge on today has forged man's destiny of tomorrow. And as we leave the surface of Taurus-Littrow, we leave as we came and god willing we shall return with peace and hope for all mankind. Godspeed the crew of Apollo 17.
