Very ture and now we have then threatening to shut down canada's economy if the don't get thier way on the education issue. This is nothing but a indian mafia that has taken over. All the governmnet said was ,run the schools with provincial regs so some kid in grade 8 is not reading like a kid in grade 2 and show us where the money went and now they threaten the country. Indeed, this is threats of domestic terrorism. I believe it would be a big mistake to give the Chiefs or Bands control and use of this money which no doubt would be funneled away from education. The best way to improve the lives of Natives is through education to the same provincial standards and curriculum as everyone else. They can add their own aboriginal culture etc. to the program.
