I agree, but I would go further than that. The fact that people think this benign entity we call "the West," led by its secular-liberal Messiah state, is flitting about the world "fighting terrorism" is of precisely the same intellectual degree as any of the religious beliefs. And arguably of an even lesser moral degree.

And yet many people really do seem to believe this--that the "war on terror" is real, and that "they" commit terrorism, while "we" do not. It's like listening to tantrum-y children, but without the ameliorating innocence.

Mind you, it appears to be mostly a Western delusion; people in what we call the "developing world" tend to have a far more jaded and clear-eyed view of such antics.

“There is a limit to how much we can constantly say no to the political masters in Washington. All we had was Afghanistan to wave. On every other file we were offside. Eventually we came onside on Haiti, so we got another arrow in our quiver."

--Bill Graham, Former Canadian Foreign Minister, 2007

What the hell is a clear eyed developing world person, a liberal messiah follower, a deluded Westerner, an unreal war on terrorism, and just who are these bad Christians in Africa? Talk about trotting out stereotypes and platitudes, Yah its no wonder Bleeding Heart wanted to take a step back from Muslims, he needs to spend time stereotyping and making up ludicrous generalizations against others in the name of saying its not fair to do it to Muslims?

I do not know who these ka ka Christins he refers to in Africaare, all I am aware of are Christians being slaughtered in South Sudan and Nigeria right now.

As for his being able to spew out generalizations of deluded Westerners and clear eyed third world people I will only say his generalizations are nothing more than him labelling people with his own biases. Pure piffle. Pure sanctimonious piffle.

Now speaking about Muslim fundamentalism-how is it stereotyping Muslims to say that the vast majority of sharia law nations today, particularly in the Middle East, Pakistan, Iran, Turkey,Malaysia, are ripe with sexism, homophobia, corruption, tyranny and violence. How does it stereotype Muslims to say in these nations their government do not separate religion from state and preach hatred and intolerance towards Jews, Christians, Hindus, Buddists, Bahaiis, gays, women, atheists, communists, socialists, trade unionists, on and on. How is it a stereotype against Muslims to say this Muslim fundamentalism fuels intolerance and war not just against non Muslims but between Muslim sects?

What should we pretend Chechnya and the Muslim communities in China and Russia are peaceful? Is Pakistan a model for an enlightened state. How about Sudan, Yemen, Libya, Algeria,Morcocco, Lebanon, Iraq, Syria, Egypt,Somalia, Chad, Dahomey, Niger,Cameroun,Mali, Senegal, Tunisia? Has the Muslim fundamentalism in these countries helped?

Oh yes, Hezbollah sure brought Lebanon into the 21st century with their progressive approach to peace and harmony with Sunnis and Christians.

Oh but wait, got to love the Turks and Iranians for achieving such peace and tolerance with Kurds.

Give me a phacking break.

Muslim fundamentalist rationalizes terrorism, intolerance, war and hatred. It preaches that anyone not a version of the Muslim follower of its mullah is suspect.

It is a direct enemy of peace, tolerance, respect of difference of opinion and is fundamentally opposed to democratic values, human rights and individual rights.

What a crock to say we are not involved in a war with it. We are in as much of a war with it today as we were with Hitler and Nazism and cold war communism. Of course we are. No war on terrorism? Only someone living in a sheltered environment oblivious to the consequences of being attacked by terrorists would say that. Tell that to the Americans, Canadians, British, Poles,Australians, etc., in Afghanistan. Tell that to the American soldiers in Iraq.

Tell that to the innocent victims of Muslim terrorism each and every day including Muslim victims. Tell that to the Nigerians, the people of the Philipinnes. Tell that to Israelis.

Tell that to the victims in India of Muslim terror attacks.

Give me a frigging break with this elitist leftist crap that pretends Muslim fundamentalism is not terrorism and is harmless and because its criticized it hurts the feelings of Muslims in Canada. Get a reality test. The Muslims who came to Canada came to get away from that fundamentalist crap. Stop labelling them all as insecure and unable to see criticism of Muslim extremism as not an attack on them. They do not like it any more than non Muslims. .

If any Muslim came to Canada seeking to bring that xtremist crap then they can get the phack out.

Get this straight, When the KKK or any other extremist group in the name of Christianity claims to do what the do in the name of Christianity no Christians come on this board whining they are victims and their feelings are hurt when we call out such groups as moronic thugs.

By the way when I come on this board and call out the Kache Party as extremist morons it doesn't mean my fellow Jews whine about it hurting their feelings-why would it,? They are asshole extremist haters in the name of Judaism. We do not agree with them and think they are violent fools just as Muslims reject terrorist fundamentalists as well.

What is this politically correct horsesheeyit that says we can't call a spade a spade. Muslim fundamentalism like any religious extremism is a cancer to this world. No that does not make me anti Muslim, It makes me anti fundamentalist-extremist. Never met any religious extremist who did not sport a beard and make a fool of themselves in the name of God. Hate them all.

I thank God I was born in Canada where such extremists do not run the country and I can live in peace, not fear people of different religions or the police. Don't ask me to beat around the bush about fundamentalist terrorists. I don't want them in Canada, I do not want them on this planet and if they claim they do it in the name of Allah I will call them out as the -holes they are and no they don't get to play the religion card.

When I read Kadr saying that he believed what he did was morally right and he would do it again and then read how some people paint him as a huggable little teddy bear I say wake up-you want him in your house? You want him marrying your daughter? Then you are a fool. Does that make me anti Muslim. No. Can't stand him-his claiming to be Muslim was never the issue-the method in which he chooses to practice his being Muslim is.
