scribblet Posted October 16, 2012 Report Posted October 16, 2012 Rona Ambrose is to be awarded U.N. Women Canada Award, and is dedicating it to the Taliban shooting victim Malala Yousufzai "for her courage". Kudos to MS. Ambrose for being the recipient, and for the dedication. http://www.scribd.com/doc/110098047/Letter-from-UN-Women-Canada-to-Minister-Rona-Ambrose Quote Hey Ho - Ontario Liberals Have to Go - Fight Wynne - save our province
The_Squid Posted October 16, 2012 Report Posted October 16, 2012 Nothing about this on UN Women Canada's website. And they deny the issuance of the award. Interesting.... http://www.unwomencanada.org/ http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/inside-politics-blog/2012/10/rona-ambrose-and-the-un-award-that-waswasnt.html I can't take any women's group too seriously who would give Stronach an award, or Ambrose for that matter. Melanie_ Posted October 16, 2012 Report Posted October 16, 2012 (edited) http://www.cbc.ca/ne...t-waswasnt.html It seems there may be some confusion about whether or not Rona Ambrose actually is getting this award... The_Squid Posted October 16, 2012 Report Posted October 16, 2012 opposing women's reproductive rights should disqualify her for any sort of "good for women" award. As well, the UN Womens Canada website has a nice picture of Harper thanking him for all the great things he's done for the dames.... Large grain of salt with this one... Quote
Guest Posted October 17, 2012 Report Posted October 17, 2012 (edited) As someone who is very pro choice, I don't think her views on abortion should disqualify her at all. I confess to not knowing her record, but her views on abortion are her own. This gets back to one of the major flaws with some feminists. They don't want women in positions of power. They want their women in positions of power. Edited October 17, 2012 by bcsapper Quote

Large grain of salt with this one... yeah her position against on sex selection abortion is just awful. On one hand they want women to be empowered then when a women exercises her individuality and power she's told she should just listen to the man...lol. Can't have it both ways.
