guyser Posted October 5, 2012 Report Posted October 5, 2012 I hope your aware that Japan, China, Taiwan, Mexico, and South Korea remain closed TO THIS DAY for Canadian Beef due to this collosal Screw-up.... I hope you are aware you are wrong. Japan, China, Taiwan and South Korea take our beef. SK was the last to open the market. The lucrative South Korean beef market, which the Canadian beef industry estimates could grow to a value of $30 million by 2015, is the last major Asian market to lift its ban on Canadian beef. Canadian agri-food exports to South Korea were worth approximately $1.1 billion in 2011. http://www.international.gc.ca/media_commerce/comm/news-communiques/2012/06/18a.aspx?view=d Quote

No problem But Im glad that Steve Harper was there in your article fixing the Liberals blunders... Not really true. Protectionism and shady dealings were behind it. I recall that BSE was found in cattle in other countries that deep sixed the results. Quote
Fletch 27 Posted October 5, 2012 Report Posted October 5, 2012 Yes, I rcall the burning cow corpses in England.. Im surprised how the media however is playiong this. Finger pointing, ranting, raving.. calling for heads.. Lots of fear and uncertainty is being played out by the media and opposition.. Why dont they have a cook simply cover the deatils on properly cooking meat? On the scale of things,, BSE was far larger... No problem Not really true. guyser Posted October 5, 2012 Report Posted October 5, 2012 Why dont they have a cook simply cover the deatils on properly cooking meat? On the scale of things,, BSE was far larger... Because the cooking of meat is not the problem. The EU doesnt want hormones in their meat, especially Italy when they found Northern Italian kids developing much faster than Southern Italian kids, and blamed it on meat w hormones. Quote

Guest Peeves Posted October 5, 2012 Report Posted October 5, 2012 Looks only go so far. Once he opens his mouth it seems to start going all downhill. Trudeau has little knowledge of how the world works, compared to Harper or Obama his intellectual chops are lightweight. He needs far more experience, and needs to read more books in the non-fiction section. Anyone of the opinion that If Trudeau does gain the Federal Libs. leadership it might be the last straw and be to the favor of a Liberal left move and party further (if possible) demise? It just might if he's the choice and he turns Humpty Dumpty politically. Quote
MiddleClassCentrist Posted October 5, 2012 Report Posted October 5, 2012 Great article for the doublethink conservatives. How presumptuous. A guy barely in his forties who has served four scant years in parliament thinks he's ready to be Prime Minister. He's got a pretty wife and two lovely children. But, honestly, who does he think he is? Of course, I'm speaking of our current PM when he first aspired to lead the Canadian Alliance in 2002. Four years later, he would assume this country's highest office and quickly become a figure of veneration in conservative circles. The anti-Justin doublethink doesn't end there. This reflex loathing of Pierre Trudeau's eldest son seems to find a home among people who still think of Sarah Palin as the sage from Alaska. To hear critics deride Justin's previous career as a school teacher also reveals something about their thinking. Apparently, educating children isn't quite as impressive as working at a think-tank that does little more than complain about taxes. So why the foaming? People aren't just bemused by Justin's hubris. They're angry about it. Some callers to my radio station in Toronto are apoplectic. If he's such a jejune parvenu, then surely his seeking to lead the Liberals is the greatest thing to ever happen to the federal Conservatives. But deep down, Conservatives know Trudeau the Younger is a danger. h ttp://fullcomment.nationalpost.com/2012/10/05/john-moore-just-who-does-justin-trudeau-think-he-is/ Quote Ideology does not make good policy. Argus Posted October 6, 2012 Report Posted October 6, 2012 Do you forget how the Conservatives got into power? By not releasing full platforms or backing up any policies with plans... They just borderline slandered everyone else without substantiating anything of theirs. I think they stole the tactic from the federal Liberals, who have had it as their central tactic for the last forty years. It just might if he's the choice and he turns Humpty Dumpty politically. No. He's a celebrity, and he's pretty, and has nice hair, and he's well-spoken. Stick some policies in his mouth and let him spout them like they're his and a big chunk of the electorate will eat it up. Think of Jean Chretien. Chretien had no policies or ideas or vision, and had a tendency to put his foot in his mouth whenever he went off script. But he still won big majorities. Imagine how well he could have done if he was young, pretty, and well-spoken!
